Keep the rpms down, that's really the only way to get better mpg

When all or most of my trips are 3 miles or less, engine oil temp stays way below 200. Then my mileage is about 15 mpg around town. Once the oil temp is to 200, then reset the DIC, and drive for extended time around town, I get the 18 mpg as expected most of the time. I am a 60 year old driver. Oil temp below 200 means less mileage. Most of us have to use that stupid ethanol blend. We could all be getting 10% better mileage all the time with real gas. We can thank our government for making all our cars run less effeciently with the corn syrup (ethanol) added.

Still getting a steady 17.4 mpg combined, even after the eForce install.

Those numbers are based off of perfect driving conditions and habits. If you're that far below the estimates for your car, then you're driving too hard/fast.

Then again, if you're that concerned about fuel economy you should have bought a Sonic or Cruze.
And dont forget the fine legal print below the sticker mpg#s
+-4 to 5 mpg. Most people I dont think see these. The "BIG" numbers are the average

If I ever took it on a really long drive (like driving through a couple of states for example) I am certain I would hit numbers in the high 20's or even low 30's.

It's just that I don't "daily" drive it a lot due to working close to where I live. In fact, a tank of gas lasts me about a month.
That's my daily commute as well. During the week I will get anywhere from 8 - 11 mpg. I have gotten as low as 7mpg (my badge of honor, in a city full of prius').

Try to keep your foot out of the gas pedal. that usually solves the problem.

The Highest I've seen was on my uncles Yukon. when your press the reset button it would go to 99.9mpg and it would stay that way for a good minute or so and it will start going down. wus that normal?

One thing to keep in mind: Average speed. That is the real killer of MPG.

If you're doing highway miles, then your avg speed should be 46+ and the mpg will be nice. In town, a realistic avg speed would be 30-40 if you just drive.

If you have stop and go traffic, then every minute sitting at stop drops your overall average because of the 0 mph on the speedometer. so if you're like me, who has an avg speed of 18, your mpg is going to suck and be around 14.9 to 15.4. When I fill up and avoid stop and go traffic (and drive-thrus) my avg speed is 35 and my mpg is 17.8. Same driving style, but those minutes sitting at 0 or even 5 mph have a HUGE impact on mpg.

Of course, when I'm heavy footed, the average speed can be 18 and the mpg will be 13.4 - 13.8.

As a reference in my SS A6 in blazing hot FLA with A/C on many times. I have NEVER gotten worse than 16MPG since new and i have 10k miles on it. I reset DIC after every fillup. Oh and my average speed is 29MPH. I almost NEVER drive on the highway. I don't do burnouts and stuff or track the car but, i don't drive like grandma either.
