This is the thread that will never end. lol. I enjoy reading what you all think and why. I'm hoping that soon I can catch up on the info presented here and get back in tune with the camaro community and line up. because this speak of when the 6th gen is coming isn't the last thing I heard. but that was months ago. so I know things change. lol. oh well. in time comes knowledge.

I am far from knowledgable but I know many of the crate motors are EPA certified. I also thought they either came with the ecu or were compatible. But it's a good question for sure.

I honestly thought it would just get us over the hump of the initial ZL1 hysteria. Who knew the hystrionics would last this long.

Perhaps some day I'll tell you all the real impact this thread has had on me and where I am in my life right now.

But long and far can be increased by strong will and effort. That being said at some point you run out of gas.

I don't think it's a case of never...hell, the ZL1 will annihilate a base Vette on a road course, track, whatever...all for a touch less if you option the latter up...

I think it's a case of .... if you have it - use it! They have their resources currently split over three very distinct performance lines right now: Corvette, Camaro & V Cadillacs. Ford can pour a scalable amount of money into ONLY their Mustang line to result in one awfully potent business case.

GM, however, has that inherent advantage of a Corvette waiting in the wings...I say use it!!

It's gotten much...MUCH bigger, if nothing else....and louder ....events in the auto industry have given us a period of performance with more passion and enthusiasm baked-in then I think has ever existed...

I think you are right, but $ for $ the Vette will be king and the Vette will always be the most potent weapon. There is just so much more flexibility with the lower mass and CG a 2 sweater can offer.

Keep in mind the Fiero was neutered to be a cheap computer car using Citation and Chevette chassis bits because Chevy wouldn't allow it.

Also I can tell you there was a huge ongoing battle around the XLR being the tail that wagged the dog so to speak for the C6 that followed a year later.

So if there is room to grow with the Camaro, I doubt it will ever top the top of the line Corvette................but that is only my opinion and opinions are like a$$ holes, everyone has one.

I don't want to top the ZR1 with the hottest Camaro, just the budget versions of the ZR1.

That's a brilliant quote.

I was turned onto this site some months after I purchased my 1LT in January of 2010. Since then, I've caught Camaro-mod-fever and have done a great deal of research, mostly directly from or via this site. There's actually so much useful information from so many authoritative sources (assuming you can separate the chaff from the wheat), that I've learned a great deal about automobiles in general.

There may be more village idiots crowding the forums; but, for the most part, the quality participants (vendors, tuners, shops, insiders, experienced DIY'ers, good folks) are still here and very vocal. I really appreciate that about this site.

Gotta throw this out here...'cause we're amongst friends, right?

I was invited, today, to a "ride 'n drive"...E350 4Matic...A6 Quattro...535 Xi...new '13 Lexus GS 350...

Cadillac needs a modern replacement for the formerly (20 years ago) Top Dog STS, and if they ask me for my vote, this new GS is gonna change some people's perspective. Missing only an 8-speed Automatic from being THE non-hotrod Mid-Size Premium Sedan, hands down. And, at the top-end fully-loaded level, priced 10+% less than any of the others... That's a tuff playground, but for Cadillac to be truly relevant, they MUST be at this dance... If Lexus can, Caddie can too!

Did I just say that?!
