I too think the 1LE is pretty much a done deal. I also think unless we start hearing some rumblings and rumors soon (and I mean REAL soon), there will not be a Z/28 for the 5th gen. :( !!

1LE as a '13.5...may not have all the "i"s dotted or "t"s crossed by order announcement, but I believe we'll see it within 9-12 months.

ZEE? Kinda like the late local news...FINAL EDITION! '14-'15 MY...and that, folks, is a wildass guess...and sincere wish.

Lowdown I "feel" the wave you are on.... I just get this gut instinct they will not do a "final edition 5th" and come out with the all new Gen6 badge/new engine (DI) the very next model year. It feels like they will ride the "ZL1 Wave" for the duration of Gen5. And do "it" .... "right".... (as they already have!)

Hard to be an uplevel of something that hasn't been offered !! I know you were talking about what was back in the day, but any 1LE talk we have heard so far from Chevy has been 1LE only, no mention of a Z/28. And I'm beginning to think we won't hear anything about a Z/28 in the 5th gen. (though I hope I'm wrong).

As I mentioned, some time back, my fear for the 1LE-packaged car is that it will be compared by mediae with the BOSS LS (when's the last time you saw a report/road test of the Base BOSS?)...and the LS3-1LE may have its hands full fully accomplishing that task. So, let it be compared (rightly) with the Base BOSS...and save the REALLY heavy lifting for the ICON...properly engined/equipped/ badged...

And there is no known cure, I've had it since 1968! It is treatable by purchasing a Z/28 and using it in liberal doses, follow that therapy plan and you'll hardly know you still have the disease.
