Honestly I hope my MGW smooths out after break in. Right now it is even shorter throw with a lot of muscle needed to move it into 1st and 6th but its like butter on 3rd and 4th. Its a bit too short for my liking but I will get used to it.

Are those the same pieces from the video? Seems easy enough! Is it just cosmetic then? Not actually shorter shifts?

Negative its just how to install the top half the part under the drivetrain requires you to go underneath the car lower the transmission assembly by unbolting the brace moving back the heat shield then removing the clips and pin that hold the assembly removing the old shifter and reattaching the new one in reverse order.

reduced to $90 shipped.

Oh wow - still tempted maybe someone will know and jump right on this!

What would a shop charge for this I wonder? Doesn't seem like more than an hour or so. Maybe Barton has full instructions

Yes to change this to a Barton Short throw this is all the parts you need. The clips and pin will be reused from your previous shifter same with both shifter boots (the rubber noise reduction one and the leather looks one).
