Yes. Looks are subjective, and the case can be made for ANY of those cars that they are hot looking.

The performance numbers are NOT subjective...and I think that is why most of us made a choice to buy one of these fun cars.

I'd have to agree...if nothing else the car is different enough that people "just" want to look at it! That can't be a bad thing...

R&T is a magazine, so is C&D, Motor Trend and all the rest. They do what they do and express their opinions. Their audience is much broader than just the Camaro enthusiast Community.

When I looked at the article, and went to the performance numbers, that was the key factor in reinforcing my decision to buy a Camaro. Plain and simple best bang for the buck.!

The one opinion that really counts is the one that sways your decsion in terms of which vehicle you would buy. (Meaning: Yours!)

Having said that, actually, I like all three of these cars. Wouldn't mind having one of each in my stable. (poor metaphor , I know).

Everyday Cruiser- Camaro SS
Long Range Cruiser - Challenger
Plain Enjoyable Pony Car - Mustang

But that's just one person's opinion.

Well said ... I always hated how magazines put "LOOKS" as part of the test. Looks are so subjective and as such shouldn't be included in the overall ranking ..

A personal opinion on looks can't be wrong. People like what they like. I personally don't 100% like the looks of the Camaro. Not saying it is horrible but not a car I would buy. Some people hate my 6 series and I love it. I think the rubbernecking is more of a new car thing than actual styling but to each his own.

Enjoy your car

I read the article this morning. But they did acknowledge that everywhere they went, the Camaro was the celebrity while the other two were just cars...

Well...on my observation and experience with the Camaro...I will say and always have said, the interior is the weak point on the car...along with the handling which comes in second to the interior.

I love my Camaro...bought one without ever sitting in it and without ever drving it! But GM could have done better in a few areas that would make it heads and shoulders above all other pony cars...they didn't at least with this model year.

They have to come up with better materials on the dash...they have to!! They have to put in a power passenger seat as well...to me this is just crazy! They have to add sway bars and/or a "track pack" like option too to bring the handling up.

I know, I know...more money right? Well yeah it's more money but if you want it to really be what it "can be"...then offer the add ons!

Now, with the new engine for Ford coming, GM will need to step up to the plate and not only swing, but hit this time!

I'm not a huge fan of our interior, but it'll do.

But the Challenger interior? Looks just like the charger interior. Which looks like the avenger interior. Which looks like the caliber interior. Which looks almost like the grand caravan interior.

not exactly much designing going on.

I mean what are these "better" materials that everybody keeps talking about?Leather? Polished mahogany? Synthetic marble?

I know everybody talks about plastic this and plastic that, but the only car I've ever been in that the interior didn't boil down to "plastic" was my bosses $100k+ M6.

I consider the interior of my wife's malibu to be nice and stylish, but ultimately its plastic.

I honestly don't think you can expect much more from a car any average person can afford.

I sat in one of the new 2010 Stangs that so many people are raving about the interior and my response was "WTF is the big deal?" Its no different than any other "working man's car."

Call me uncultured or whatever but I just don't get it....

I love how mags say the 4 gauges on the console are impossible to read. That's the point they are 99% for show. If any gauge is out of range there is an idiot light to back it up. I have never been driving down the freeway and thought man I really need to know my trans temp right now.

+1 The interior of the Camaro isn't all that much different than that of my G35 (sedan) when it comes to materials. The G's dash plastic was a little softer, but I think I actually prefer the Camaro's.

I agree wholeheartedly with this post. I love the way the SS drives...but the interior is the weak link, in terms of design, function and form.

The Challenger is roomier, has more thoughtfully laid out design even though it is "plain"...

I considererd the pros and cons of both cars...and ultimately decided on the SS.

But it is what it is. There is room for improvement.

I get the rubber necking. But along with that comes a lot of comments on how beautiful the car is, or how badass it looks. At grocery stores, gas stations, cruisin etc. people take pictures of the car regularly.
