Just read the October Road & Track
They love the new Camaro even though they liked the Stang more. What bugged me the most were the low marks they gave it in both interior and exterior styling. Lower than the Challenger for interior? OMG what were they smoking? The Challenger has nothing on the inside for style. I know it's all subjective, but please R&T, who paid you guys off?
OK, I'm off my soap box.

they probably just don't like the space age looking instrument cluster :P To be honest it's not my favorite, but it's better than the challenger I agree...

Didn't understand how they thought the Challenger's interior was better than the Camaro's either. Opinions are like assholes. Not only does everyone have one, but I'm not interested in anyone else's either. |

I like the article that Car and Driver wrote also. They said the camaro looked angry. It looks mean, whats wrong with that? They also had the stangy winning, only because it had the track pack. Put a track pack on a camaro and see what happens. I'm letting my subscription run out because of articles like this.

they sell and cater to the public masses who in turn are obviously on the Ford (didn't borrow any gov't funds) bandwagon.

R&T magazine disses the Camaro on exterior styling??
How can this be? Alot of you have already probably read, but in the October issue of Road & Track in the "Pony Express!" article they compare the Mustang GT with track package, the Challenger R/T (which I get tired of them comparing to and not the SRT), and the Camaro SS on a long trip across part of the US on the former Pony Express.
In exterior styling based out of 15 points, the Mustang receives 15.0, the Challenger 14.5 and the Camaro a ridiculous 11.2. I could not disagree more, the exterior styling of the Camaro is what makes heads turn and is an amazing design, sleek, sexy lines, agressive stance, etc. etc. etc. This is what got people so interested in it in the first place. Someone tell me if using the Challenger in Transformers would have had the same effect--i don't think so. How can they give the boat-like, massive, droopy eyed Challenger nearly 15 out of 15 and the Mustang with its depressed front end, feminine-esque styling and weird tail lights a 15. One of the drivers did admit that he was in the minority on the styling because everywhere they went, the Camaro SS was getting the looks and the raves, not the other two in the peanut gallery. At least they gave the engine and brakes 20 out of 20 each, and were able to get a 4.6 sprint to 60 and 12.9 quarter!

One of the other magazines did something similar, knocking off points for exterior styling because the car looked angry.
I've never thought the Camaro looked angry. More like confidently happy.

Thats the problem with most of the car mags. They are based on the opinion of the article writer and not an honest evaluation of the car. The guy simply may dislike chevys. That and $$$ from the companies that need a good review.
If I read a car mag, its just to get the hard numbers of the car and nothing more.

The writer (Peter Eagan) owns a 2008 Mustang GT Bullit, and may be just a little biased.

yep, this is true. I think he was pretty into his mustang and the one he was driving. at least he admitted that the raves along the trip were mainly for the Camaro.

To me, this is definitely an example of personal taste regarding the styling issues.
However, when you look at the performance numbers, that tells the real story. Still reaffirms my choice!
