You're not alone......except for the pro's doing them after a win, that's fun to see and besides, the pro's have a whole crew to fix anything that breaks.

yep pros after a win tearing up the bosses stuff or drag racers heating up the tires. other than that applying full brakes and full throttle is for teens or people who think heroin goes good with cocaine. oh. I'm gonna get flamed more than a jordanian pilot

That is a messed up thing to say and incredibly disrespectful just to try and be "funny". Those savages burned that guy alive in a cage like an animal. He doesn't deserve some funny guy on a car forum making him into a joke...

I like watching burnouts but I'm not too excited of just smoking the rubber off of $1k in rear tires. The fact that the only last 15k miles at best is bad enough, I don't need to accelerate the process.

You will need to try a couple different things and see what works best for your particular situation. The tires stickiness, track prep, and the shock created affect launch. When you pre load the drivetrain there is any "shock" to the tires as they are pre loaded and you can leave with some boost.
On the other hand sometimes the converter can flash high when you just hit the gas and you will find the tires hold.
