Header install problem, need help
So I got my ARH headers installed, very nice product by the way. When I was taking the O2 sensors out one of them stripped badly only one thread left. Yes I soaked them in PB Blaster over night didn't help. The only place I can find a replacement is from Chevrolet at $130 and will have to be overnight shipped at another $20. I'm willing to pay and did for quality but another $150 puts these things dam close to grand, WTF. I guess i'll stop whining now.

I used a thread file and fixed the threads... Mine looked like they couldn't be repaired either.... I hope you can fix the threads...... |

I think they are made to do that on purpose.
Bot you can often clean the threads out, its the sensor side that is made of crap metal. |

The threads are gone the sensor falls in to the one and only thread just above the gasket/washer.

Can always get a Tap and Die kit to redo the threads.

I think he's saying there's not enough metal to rethread.

Wonder if it would help to try to loosen them when the exhaust is still warm. Sometimes exhaust parts are seized pretty tight when cold.

If its the O2 bung that is stripped, go get a Heli-Coil kit and fix it. If its the actual sensor thats stripped, gunna have to buy a new one. Maybe could run a die over it but I doubt you have one.
When you get it fixed and continue with the install, be sure to put some anti-sieze so this won't happen to you again.

I actually went and bought a die for it and tried to save the one last thread and it didn't work. All threads except one were ripped off. Used penetrating lube over night and when it first started sticking used a propane torch to heat it up. Lot of good that did. Just have to suck it up I guess.
