Not Happy

We ordered our 2SS/RS on May 9, and are still waiting. I've been pretty patient, but today was the last straw. I called my salesman and he said he had the VIN# , finally. When I tracked it on-line, its not even my car. When I called hiom back, he said the computers were down ( a regular problem) and hasn't called me back. We are going in Monday and getting our deposit back and heading to another dealer that promised the car I want will be in his showroom in two weeks. Only problem I'm having, should I believe him or quit altogether. We ordered from Classic because they weren't gouging the price by thousands. I'm not sure it was worth it.

Was there more to this story, or was that it? Just because he gave you the wrong VIN, and the computers went down you are going to cancel the order? GM's computers go down for Maintenance on Sunday, so it may have just went down early. They typically don't come back up until Monday. Just give him a call Monday, you getting the VIN on a Saturday vs Monday isn't going to make a difference on when you get the car. Better yet, just get the VIN off of these forums through the "Where's my car" thread.

Call Craig at Mac Haik chevrolet in Houston. He has several on the lot, and will use his allocation to get your order moving from day one.

Having said that, we all know this is a very hot item now and in huge demand, especially compared to the Mustang. Yes, demand will slow down, but buyers now can only do so much while the item is in huge demand. In that respect being able to buy it at MSRP such as at Classic is MUCH better than paying what some are elsewhere. It does help to have that no haggle price at a take it or leave it offer.
Tomorrow is my birthday and I "just" got my TPW of 10/19/09. About a week sooner than I was expecting. Hopefully, my signature will help you and others to see where you will fall down the line.
Also, I see that last batch of pictures didn't show the new rear parking assist sensors. I'm not sure if all the rear shots were of lower models, but I'm hoping to see the new look of the rear bumper on the next batch of cars that come in most likely.

should try getting one in the panhandle 10k over on all cars

I'm not one to talk dirt, but when I went to Mac Haik (the one on I-10 and Kirkwood) the salesman I talked to said there was no way I would get a SS for under $6-8,000 ABOVE MSRP!!! In fact they treated me like they didn't think I was a serious buyer, but I think it was because I'm a girl. When I told him that Classic in Sugarland and Champion on Hwy 6 was selling at MSRP he acted like that wasn't true, and hinted they were just telling me that over the phone to get me to their lot. He said NO ONE in Houston was selling at MSRP. This WAS NOT TRUE! I ended up buying my car from Mark Myers at Classic Sugarland for EXACTLY what I was told over the phone, with no BS . He was professional, nice, no pressure, no long sales pitch, and very laid back. My ground effects where on back order still when my car came in, and he and the service dept called me regularly to keep me updated on the arrival. I would refer anyone in the Houston area to talk to Mark about getting a car. Oh, by the way I bought my car in June and I love it!

PS-To be fair, I don't remember the sales guys' name (just where he sat!) at Mac Haik but I am sure it was NOT Craig. I also believe you should never judge a company by one bad experience (or bad sales person) and always stay open minded to second chances.

Haha you guys crack me up.

I truly apologize for not announcing I received my car the day of but I finally took delivery last Wednesday. I didn't think I'd be among the people saying the wait was TOTALLY worth it (7 months is a long time for anything)...but it was! Wow, the raw power of this thing...can be scary fun!

Surprisingly I'm a fan of the stock exhaust note but this coming from a guy who has never had the privilege of owning a V8 before.

That being said, still want to shop around for an aftermarket exhaust set-up for sure.

Anytime I wash cars I bring tropical-like weather for weeks on end sooooo please be patient with the pictures.

Does anyone have first-hand recommendations on paint shops in the DFW area?

Who did you order from, and did he resolve your concern?

I'm only a client, who has been to both Classic and Bankston. Classic is bigger, Bankston is better. Just my experience. ( I bought a '08 Tahoe and a '08 Silverado from Classic( got screwed), and a '10 Camaro SS/RS from Bankston) I'm telling ya, It's night and day difference.
I dont mean to throw rocks, but isnt 8/12 - 8/21 two weeks?

Thank you for your concern. We were on our way out there when our salesman called us(!). He gave us the right VIN (Which was corrected and posted on camarotracking.com) I haven't found it yet on spasticsquirrel, but I have waited this long. I am still concerned about why we have waited so long, and why we have to call so much just to get updates. We didn't go in to get our deposit back, and will wait some more, but the first car to come in will be the one I buy. By the way, I'm not posting our salesmans name because he really is a nice guy. I just don't think he understands how much we want this car.

There was a lot more, but I won't slam the salesman and I can't tell you about the dealer until we buy the car and go through the process.
