I have a Driveshaft Shop carbon drive shaft in my car.
The quality is good. The support is amazing. Losing the flex discs makes the car trailer hitch like crazy since there's nothing to dampen drivetrain slack. I got used to it, but it's something to be aware of. |

“Revs faster”... Someone please explain to me how a driveshaft, connected mechanically to the engine and transmission, revs ‘faster’ than the source of said revs. Perhaps some twisting/torque of stored energy beyond a steel shaft but I’m all ears as to how the driveshaft spins faster than what it’s connected to. As would ANY driveshaft.

Ok, that makes more sense. Unless you are at point in racing where something like 5HP can be the difference in winning or losing, I don't see the general thumb rule of a 5HP gain as justifying the huge cost of a CF shaft. I would like to 'feel' what one is like though.

I have it, installed it myself, and did a dyno of just the driveline update. NO RWHP increase but smoother delivery.
At the time I did the upgrade, had 590 RWHP before upgrade, 590 RWHP after, have the dyno sheets — dynoed by GPI both times. What you get is less weight and improved/smoother delivery to the wheels — that is what Ryan and I noticed... -Don

Wow, that's a significant increase in HP! Have you heard of or seen "QA1" shafts? I always see them at our shows , SEMA, etc. Can't really say they'd work any better than a DSS but it's pretty stuff. Mirror on the floor worthy. (at least the stuff they bring to the shows!) https://www.qa1.net/driveshafts

For snappier revs, I’d toss my money on a lighter flywheel over a lighter driveshaft any day of the week.
