I sold my Corvette, 2007, to get the Camaro and couldn't be happier.

The Corvette was a better performer. Hand down, no questions asked. Faster, quicker, better handeling. The Corvette just felt like it is supposed to, a SPORTS CAR. The Camaro is not, and never, ever, no matter what anyone else says a sports car. A sports coupe or muscle car or pony car, yes, NOT a sports car.

The Camaro has better build quality. Hands down, no questions asked. Even the C6 was designed with the "parts bin" mentality that GM would have died by. A radio thats also in a Cobalt. A parts bin sterring wheel, sure they added some buttons and a leather warap... whoopie do. Blah dash and door panels. Maybe they (GM) were going for the simple, sports car look. They got it but... for 40-100 grand, I want a little jazz. The Camaro interior is so fresh. Like nothing else GM had. Nothing was reused. Not to mention the fit and finish. I suspect the C7 will trump the Camaro in this because the new Gm seems to be much more agressive towards quality.

The Camaro (IMO) has more curb appeal... right now. The Corvette is no longer a fresh look, the Camaro is new and hits the right cords with most people, of all age groups. In a few years... I don't have a crystal ball.

The Camaro is way more suited for someone my age. I am blessed with a good job, a great wife with a good job, a great family that supported me when I was younger and in College so I can have the finer things in life. I am 33 soon and have had many nice new cars. 2000 C5, 2004 RX~8, 2007 C6 and the 2010 SS being the last 4. I took LOTS of bull shit for driving the Corvettes at such a young age. I worked my tail off to buy them. No one but me paid the payments but you still have pricks who are... i guess just jelous that have to talk smack. Thats one down side of the Corvette. People see them and thing you dumped 60 grand on them. I only paid $3,000 less for my 2010 2SS/RS then for my 2007 Corvette. Sure it was a 1LT "stripper" but ehhh, so what.

OK I am done.... Its a tough decision thats been discussed to death on here. Both great cars. Its a trade off. Pros and cons of both. You will NEVER have best of both in one car. Its not possible... Not even the almighty Z28 will trump the performance of the (same year) Corvette... GM will never let the happen... ever!

A few comments to other posts...

Tranformers.... Yea, stupid reason to buy the car. Thats cool, it youre like 10.

"Ferrari" headlights... best thing they did. Sure it looks like a 360 a little but so what. Pop ups are the worst idea. I am a huge fan of the headlight redesign.

Another reason NOT to buy a certian type of car... because more people look at you! Buy it for YOU, not them.

I'd definitely say the camaro is taking vette sales. I just bought camaro last week and the dealers were marking down vette's $10k. I've never seen Chevy offer any discount on vettes much less 0% for 5 years and the dealers kicking in a few grand as well. I ended up almost getting a vette but changed my mind last minute and went with the camaro. I can't be the only one.

I’m 41 and have had two corvettes. I could have bought another but I was drawn to the new Camaro from the moment I saw it unveiled at the 2006 International car show. The fresh look, beautiful lines and cutting edge technology I believe is what’s driving sales (IMO). Driving my 2SS/RS is awesome. I made the right choice.

To me the Vette is hands down the best vehicle Chevy makes. The quality issues everyone talks about here cant be farther from the truth. I had a 2004coupe and had no issues and now have a 2008 Vert with equally not a problem. Yes, early years c5 and c6 had their share of issues just like our beloved Camaro has had.

Remember, the Camaro is brand new. The C6 has been out now for 5 years. Of course they are going to be discounting them. Do you think the Camaro will be not be subject to discounting soon?

As far as the Camaro having class leading technology over the Corvette, I don't see it. Does the Camaro have the following: HUD, NPP exhaust, navigation, push button start, auto select ride (magnetic shocks), automatic climate control. The answer is NO.

Dont get me wrong, I like my new Camaro, but as you can tell, I love my Corvette.

Nobody said it had "class leading technology". plus, a Camaro shouldn't have that stuff. Thats what makes a Corvette a Corvette... I hate when people try to defent the corvette by saying its so much better becasue of all the stuff it has and what it can do... IT SHOULD!! ITS A FREAKING CORVETTE! I am saying, why did they have to recycle parts among entry level Cobalts and top of the line Corvettes???

The sooner people stop comparing the two the better.

WAKE UP EVERYONE... THESE CARS ARE NOT COMPETITION!

THE CORVETTE SHOULD BE BETTER IN EVERYWAY... THATS WHY ITS A CORVETTE... SHHHHEEESH.

Hey guys I have a question... I was thinking about buying an STS-V but that new Malibu sure is turning some heads. Which should I buy?

I have asked before and I will ask again... PLEASE let this subject die. If you have the means and have to ask, buy a Corvette.

AMEN!!! I am sticking to my new motto...

If you have the means and have to ask, buy the Corvette. You wont be disappointed but if you are 100% sold on the Camaro or don't have the means, you wouldn't have to ask so its a non issue.

I sold this for my 2010 2SS/RS and I am 100% happy because I was sold on the camaro from day 1!

When is a vette gently used (especially if its manual)??
