You’re doing fine. Six pages and going. On your way to an Epic thread. It is pretty amazing. It’s like the headline should now read, “Man Spends Own Money On Car Mod’s, Pundits Say It’s All Wrong!”

You could take it back to the dyno and increase the RPM’s and star in the ‘Man Scatters LS Motor All Over Tuner’s Shop’ thread. People love that sh!t! Enjoy your build.

Thanks. I just finished reading it all again in disbelief. I definitely did not expect all this.

I was just looking at some old posts of guys with the 235/239 missing a gear, over revving and bending valves. I think the tune is safe, and I'm happy with it. No regrets... (well, maybe starting this thread)

Awesome build man! I feel you on the not wanting to spin over 7k. I was trying to keep mine below that limit too. Once I get it sorted out that is I know they CAN take it, but it's my preference not to.

Even if that intake didn't gain you a bit without revving out more, it still looks friggen awesome. And you know it's safe spray setup! Super jealous man, that's an awesome looking setup!

The other thing is, while I know many serious gear heads hang here and do serious builds, many folks consider the look, as you did. LOD thought enough to give you color choices, so they get that too. I for one am happy to see the Z/28 CAI. I have one too. Fortunately, it’s pretty damned functional as well. I’m in good company with this build. (tho I lack the rest of it!) And unless you’re looking to attract sponsors at the strip, the ol butt dyno is damned satisfying in itself.

The z28 cai works well. Lazer and i removed the filter to his 1le on the dyno.....no change. Tried it at the track just to see what would happen. It picked up 1 mph.

If you truly want safe you never turn that bottle on.....you leave the car stock. There is nothing i know of more violent on a engine than nitrous. Silenoids stick all the time. Performance fluctuates constantly do to bottle pressure and trying to get that one last hit out of the bottle. It's a pita.

The screwed up part is if you optimized your na set up like myself and others have said. Then your current "safe" nitrous set up would have all it could handle in a race.

Looks like others here have offered some good info. Thread isn't a terrible loss.

Well....what's even worse is you're wasting your own time and $ for those results. So much more to be had.

This isn't my first car with nitrous. I have a bottle heater and pressure switch. Never had issues with solenoids. Never had a back fire. Not to say it will never happen, risk is less imo that revving it to 7800 on the dyno... tuner agreed. I'm sticking with what I got. I appreciate the opinions... maybe someone else should buy an intake and show me how it should be done.... there's an idea!
