I am on this website because I actually like the camaro and am getting one next year... you said you do not like the new camaro, so you really have no reason to be on here

Truth.

If you don't a) own or b) are interested in a fifth gen Camaro, why would you spend time on a fifth gen forum?

I am interested in where the Camaro might be going. There are certain aspects of it I don't like but those things may get addressed and changed so why not be on here. If GM turns it into something I want and enough of my criteria are met i will buy one. it won't be the first Camaro i have owned.

Again; this section is called the "Chevy Camaro vs..." area. It's for people to compare the Camaro to OTHER cars out there. Obviously the owners of some of those cars will post in this section. Imo, that's what this section was created for.

Of course if owners of other cars go into the OTHER sections and compare the Camaro to different cars, it's a different story.

You are correct it is a Camaro vs. page but too many take it as a Camaro bashing section.

Bro, don't feel like you need to give anyone a reason as to why you are on these forums. Last time i checked this was and still is a public forum with no criteria to be a member. As long as your aren't threating people or whatever other offense that might get you banned, you have every right to be here as the next person. If somebody doesn't like it tell them to grab a tissue and go cry to someone who actually cares.

I am on this forum cause I can be. Period.

I could care less what your opinion is as to why someone should or shouldn't be here.

It's to bad that there can't be a logical/competent discussion on a mustang vs. camaro thread without people from one side or the other becoming so offensive that it totally gets de-railed.

Sadly, that's the case on any forum that allows discussion. Just figure out who the fanboys are, and put them on ignore. But if you start banning or attacking anyone in a VS section for discussing other cars, the forum will end up like certain other forums where that happens.

Part of the reason I post on various car forums is to gain knowledge of other vehicles out there. I would not post on a Mustang forum where it was "In every way the Mustang is the best" all the time. I like a little good-natured discussion on the age old Ford vs Chevy vs Dodge topic. Of course ricers are of zero interest to me.

Back on track

Lets get this back on the original track, OK? I have owned 2 Mustang GTs (86 and 88), a 77 Camaro LT, a 88 IROC 5.7, a 95 Z28 and now a 2010 SS. Also had a Ford Aerostar and an Astro. I loved my Mustangs, loved the Camaros and loved the Astro & Aerostar (for minivans that is). But the thing that made me switch from Ford to Chevy was not the car, but the service. Everytime I took my stangs in for service (in warranty) the dealer would spend more time looking for non-warranty-covered items to blame it on than fixing the problem. My 88 Aerostar's cruise control went bad - totally dead. It was an 88 and so was my stang at the time so I swapped the cruise modules and it followed the module. Took it to the dealer and they call back and say that there is a hose in the fender that was partially pinched and that had to be fixed before the module would be swapped - at over $450 to me!! I told him it was the module and how I knew and they said "it doesn't matter if the module is bad - you have to fix this first or we won't even look at the module." The mod is right under the dash and pulls out in 2 sec - they spent more of their tech's time doing this crap. Had a friend with a Ford F150 that they pulled similar crap to. The cars were great but the dealer sucked. Tried 3 dealers in all and they all pulled the same crap.

My 88 GT developed a problem with the paint on the hood - clearly the paint was bubbling up from the primer. Car was not even 6 months old. The dealer said "you are using the wrong kind of car wax and its is ruining the paint." I said "prove it". But in the end, they didn't fix it. Had to go to 2 other dealers before one finally repainted the hood. BUT when I got it back it was FULL of crud like they left it outside to dry. I found bugs, dirt and even a 8" long hair in the paint. I took it back to another dealer to fix what the last dealer did to it.

Of course there will be those that say "that was 20 years ago dude, things have changed" and I say no they haven't. Everyone I know with fords have the same problems - they don't honor their warranty and their service sucks. Show me a happy ford driver and I'll show you someone who has never had to take their car into get it fixed at the dealer.

Chevy 4ever!

And fyi, those Mustangs with their primitive parts are out-handling the Camaros.
The Camaro's could be priced lower if they offered cheap outdated parts too lol.

The GT500 has more than 100 more hp, weighs less, and has taller gears (3:55s) than the Camaro SS. So there is no way that the Camaro SS wins "in most cases".
right, Wrong, and right.

Whoa, whoa. No one is saying he has no right to be here. I'm just saying, if you dislike the car, why ARE you here? It's fine if you do or don't like any car. I'm just wondering why you would waste your time on a forum for a car you dislike that vehemently. That sounds trollish to me. Check his posting history. It definitely doesn't sound like he's here because he's "interested in where the Camaro is going."
