Ok you people think what you want. The Mustang has sold better than any of it's competitor's ever since conception, so it does'nt really matter what arguement's you have the number's say it all. And yes we all know right the Camaro is out selling it. Hmm, I wonder why? I'm sure it does'nt have anything to do with the fact that it was not in production for 8 year's and if they keep that lead then good for them. I wish them the best and right now they need a maracle.

Exactly. And GM had already said the GTO was only going to be sold for 3 years. So it was a low volume, limited run car.

While there is no way to prove or disprove that, keep in mind the 2005 Mustangs had a brand new, retro look Ford did all on their own.

Also, the 2005s got the new 300hp 4.6 3V motor as well. Imo, regardless of the GTO, Charger, etc, Ford was going to increase the performance of the 2005s to go with the new look.

Just like in that GMI thread... The mustang sold like 10,000 units in the '05-'06 model year when there was a very healthy economy, lack of competition, and the new design of the mustang.

The Camaro has peaked 9,400 units in a terrible economy, much competition, and it too has a new design. IMO, the Camaro is doing better than the mustang giving the circumstances.

I wouldn't exactly call that motor new... It's just a variant of the same motor they've been using for the past ten years. Someone was complaining about GM doing the same thing!?

I'm not exactly sure if you are saying I was complaining or not but if you are then you would be wrong I was just pointing that fact out. My only beef about that is why when thinking in a buissness sense would Ford waste money to beat a car that they know virtually nothing about. Wich is a very good reason not to spend money on R & D. Seem's like a smart move to me. Does it suck in some way's sure but it's great for the company as a whole.

And here's one for you. I have 650 horse on a stock 2009 4.6 that has been ran hard and is running strong. So is that big 6.2 really that much better? I dont think so. So just because for what ever reason Ford did'nt make them more powerfull, I dont know. I guess it's because they already had something more powerfull.

EDIT: Because apparently some of you dont get that I meant on a stock block.

I will add the GTO and G8 to my list of cars that the mustang destroyed / outsold in competition, in the absence of an F-Body or Charger / Challenger.

The mustang had competition. I think we're all in agreement there now. I am so torn between the Mustang and the Camaro. I think I'm gonna have to test drive both and decide from there... The Mustang just seems so much more nimble but the Camaro is a rocket!!!

I'm getting excited again. ::pants heavily::

I dont know and we never will. But again if you dont think that has anything to do with the 8 year absence then you are crazy. And I'm sure it has a little to do with the fact that while I personally dont like the design GM has stepped up and made an all round Camaro. My favorite Camaro is the 2002 as far as exterior design goes.

The G8 is a great car but it is in no way in competition with a Mustang.

Are you calling me a liar? If so bring your Camaro on up and we will see if I am or not. And I'm not saying my car is going to beat every car out there, but If you think I'm lying come on up. And just to be safe I do plan on putting forged internal's in next summer, just to be safe, and when I do I will certainly up the boost.

My point is that if you have 650hp, the engine is far from stock.

Why don't you race Junkie... He's got a truly stock car that would take yours to the woodshed.

I said a stock engine or to be more specific a stock block with only a supercharger.

As far as racing junkie goes I did'nt come out here talking trash like that. But if your refering to a stock Z06 Hmm well if I can drive mine down the track as well as him then I would'nt even be the slightest worried, but I know he has got a shit load of experience at the track. If your talking top end of course. So for the sake of not bringing him into this I will leave it at that but if you have one and want to come up then we can see who get's taken to the woodshed.

PS I already know what it will do on the street to one.

Stock 4.6 puts out 315hp, you've modified it even if the internals are stock.

And I was referring to his ZR1.

ANDDDDDDDDDDDDD as much as I'd love to take you up on your offer I only race on road courses... you know... real racing. Something Mustang's aren't very good at.
