No cause politics are not allowed. I never understood why politics can’t get involved. Look at Facebook! It’s full of it. Only fun we have here is roasting the noobs or the trolls with their inane questions.

The general discussions are the most entertaining...hell, anyone can figure out the correct cam lobe blah blah blah...in the technical forum...hang out there long enough and youll become an expert on 6 vs 8s....but you'll miss comments as quoted.

What fun is that? Might as well be on Fartbook

There a tons of forums people can post political statements/comments, I for one am glad that is NOT allowed here. But yes this website is without a doubt social media. Lots of very helpful and useful information, but be aware not everything posted here is 100% accurate, especially when it is opinion base such as "What the best XXXX" to use in my Camaro.

If you removed one of the X, I could make some recommendations.

Technically it is social media, but in one of the more simplistic forms. Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, even MySpace back in the day accentuated extra parts of social media and have brought with it the stigma that is surrounded by it today. This is an open forum designed around a specific topic, 5th gen Camaros, unless you get into other "Off Topic discussions" in that subsection.

The part I find so fascinating about the forum is that it is so centralized around something that I am so passionate about in my life, my Camaro. Yes there's other topics that pop up from time to time that seem or odd and the "which cold air intake is best", "which header is best", etc thread that has been asked 10,000 times can get old, especially if there's 3 threads started within the last week on these topics. However, some people are newbies and just don't know any different.

IMO, the best part about this forum is the ban on politics and religion. I am religious and have my own political beliefs, but leaving that out of here keeps the forums where you can keep as much personal feelings out of answers as possible.

Yes, I find the distraction from the incessant ‘politics of everything’ nice too. Maybe we’re anti-social media.

I get your point about keeping politics out to maintain a fun atmosphere. It can get intense and divisive. *♂️ But hey, we've got our own little community here for friendly banter, right?

Yes, this is technically social media. Was nice being in the military and having my job when social media started...I couldnt have one, post pics, or any of that BS, so, I never did. Still dont!! If someone wants to tell me about something they can call or text me....and if it all gets bad enough, someone will tell me about it....

Sorry, but I come here to ESCAPE the politics BS. There are PLENTY of other sites to go to and argue and waste your time arguing politics. I like coming here to look at the beautiful CamaroGen5 pics and hear the incredible knowledge some of you have about automobiles.
