Its not perfect, but it will work. I had a procharged LT1, older LT1, with a 112 lsa cam and it did well. was a 10 sec car on 12#s of boost and minor head work.

Here's what the car made on the dyno. A penny for your thoughts?

Probably right on the money for dyno results. Drive train loss on the 6L80 is a bitch, but I would be very happy with that. You got over 40rwhp compared to a full bolt on, non-cammed A6 SS with a low lift, low valve train stress cam.
Most importantly, how does it feel? Is there any way you could make a video of the idle? I really would like to hear it. I am seriously considering going with a baby VVT cam similarly spec'd to the GM Hot Cam (<.600) when I swap mine, as I want to keep the valve train punishment as low as possible and maybe still be able to run beehives..

Attached is a short clip of me staring her up. The sound is amazing as she turns heads everywhere we go. It's definitely a huge improvement from stock in driving it. I'm still not done building her though. The only thing was the krazy surges in the beginning. I thought I was going to have to purchase new brakes after only a few days lol. From a complete stop, take my foot off the break and just let it coast on its own, it's gotten up to 30 mph. The tune has definitely calmed down all of that surging, thankfully. Hopefully the video will load so you can hear it. Music to my ears. |

How does the low end torque feel compared to your L99? On pulls, where does the new cam feel strongest?
I guess what I am asking is if it feels like a balanced cam compared to the VVT L99 cam, with a broad torque curve. Or does it feel a bit less responsive on the low end with a strong top end.

Have you thought about putting a converter in it? Something a little looser in the 3600-3800 range would do wonders for driveability at stop lights. You'll also get it in the power band a lot quicker off launch. InFiD3ViL - I'm like you on the lower lift options. I went with the TSP "Bald Eagle" cam. Its a stage 2 cam basically but with .600 lift. I know they make some AFM/VVT cam grinds with only .500 lift to remain AFM friendly, but off the shelf it looks like the lowest left VVT cams are still .600. And once you get that high, they always recommend the .660 dual valve springs. Have you found any VVT cams out there for the L99 with less than .600 lift yet? Someone has to make one right? Either way though, if you found something in the .585 range, I'd still probably go with the .660 dual springs as insurance.

Very likely I will go with the GPI VVT SS1. If this car wasn't my daily I would go all out, but I really want to keep driveability totally in check.
