Are the 20" polished aluminum wheels clear-coated?

I have them on my 2SS and want to polish them up a bit, but don't want to use my can of Mother's Mag and Aluminum Polish on them if they are clear-coated.

That why they look so dull! Strip em and polish them!!! I made a post but no one has done this yet. Alot of WS6 Trans Am owners were doing this a few years ago because of the horrid clear coat job on their wheels.

It's not the clearcoat hurting the shine, it's the somewhat coarse mfr. polishing of the wheel. Mine look great in the sun, a bit dull in dimmer light, but I'll live with it for the sake of minimal maintenance. If you want shinier go with chrome.

Thanks to all of you for your answers. Since the wheels are clear-coated, I'll use a good paste wax on them and be done with it. Good thing I didn't use the Mother's mag polish - I would have scratched up the clear-coat.
