Mgw has three different options, including if you want to use your stock boot and knob.

Also, I disagree about hurst looking better but I am biased

I went with the MGW flat stick and absolutely LOVE it! I had read a lot between the two, and figured if I am going to get a better shifter, I would just go straight to the best.

My only complaint is that with the stiffer spring, I will occasionally do a 1-4 shift on accident because I didn't keep it over going to 2nd. But considering you can just slam it straight forward on your 2-3 shift, I will gladly take that tradeoff!

Im biased too... I think we all are a little bit. I'm just an old school 'HURST' guy that's completely satisfied with his...

The Black Pearl looks great on that Stainless Steel. Plus it goes with that whole Silver Surfer theme...

I want to do the red MGW flat stick with one of those custom shift knobs. I’m just not sure about that install

I don't even know who MGW is. I've used Hursts in my Z28 and Omega SX builds. Loved them, they've been around for over 50+ years, not to mention just the name is nostalgic.

Hurst for the win!

Hurst was founded on old school technology. Cars aren’t built the same anymore. Hurst simply replaces the stick you move. MGW designed and engineered an entirely new shifter, right down to the forks that attach to the transmission. If you ever come across someone with an MGW, give it a try. Don’t be so quick to dismiss a company just because they haven’t been around for 50 years.

Fake news on your Hurst comment. If you dont have one you have nothing to say about it.

It is a definite improvement from stock.

Did I ever say it wasn’t an improvement? Have you ever used an MGW?

You’ll need another person to help you with install. Preferably a woman with small hands cause putting the pins back is a major PITA! No way you can do it alone by shifting tranny over enough to get the passenger side in there. 3hr job. Worth every penny and minute of your time.

Dont care for it and not even commenting on the MGW.

Again, happy with the Hurst.

At the end of the day both will feel better than stock. If one is 'better', that's relative and likely quite negligible.

Pretty much comes down to brand preference and taste.

Hurst has the history and experience going for them too. They've been a quality product for most, if not all of their existence. These sticks aren't just based on old tech, they know what it takes to make sure you get a quality product in newer rides, and they have the history to show it.

I'll tell you what, meet me at the next Cars & Coffee at J&M on September 15th, 2019 8-10 am and try my MGW out. Just for the heck of it, because why not? If you walk away thinking your Hurst is still the better setup, then more power to you.
