Well, as a followup to this thread... I will say its definitely been an ordeal.

I finally got the car back just moments ago. Verdict? Unknown! Can you believe it?? Unknown issue... but its fixed.

That's a new one.

Yeah guys, I wanted to tell you what the issue was in case you guys run into this... but the fact of the matter is, we still don't know.

Test driving it, it feels great. No more wobble. Got it up to 80mph on the freeway and still no issue... so far.

Here's the thing. A few weeks back when this issue was noticed, I noted that it happens more early in the morning... when its cold.

After the day heats up (like it is now 90 degrees), the issue goes away. Its warm now and no issue. The real test on whether its gone for good will be when I drive it in the morning again.

Bottom line they just charged me for the oil change... about 90 dollars. He said the tech re-torqued and tightened a lot of my suspension... but again, didn't find anything loose initially and couldn't find the culprit. They did not charge me for the rest of the time they had it.

Also, they couldn't fix the airbag issue without me having to replace some communication module that would cost me 1k parts and labor... wtf? Isn't there a GM notice on this? They said they couldn't find anything.

If they couldn't figure out the wobble, how the heck was I supposed to?

Anyway, car is good for now... except for that dang air bag light!!! This was the reason I brought it to the dealer service dept. in the first place!

Excellent advice. During those rare moments I've had to have a dealership or other shop work on my cars, I have always politely asked for the lead and requested a "walk-around" on my car. I would point out that there were no dings or scratches and then we would take a look at the interior and do the same. It's informal, no one is put on the defense and it lets the shop know that you are very particular about your ride. I've never had a shop give me a hard time about doing that.

In hindsight, a great idea... myself, I just don't take it to the dealer that often. One grasps that sort of thing with experience. Next time a great idea, if ever again...

Not in the foreseeable future for me, however. Great shops with great mechs in the IE that will give any GM service tech a run for their money... and if I can fix it myself, I will.

The first and previous time I took it into a GM service dept. was back around 80k when I busted a spring/rocker on cylinder 3. Took it in to Allen Cadillac out of Laguna Niguel and those guys had me fixed up in 2 days solid for half the price of that module... I remember, right before Christmas. Car's been solid engine-wise since... no internal damage was done thankfully...

SS is right back where its supposed to be. In my hands, parked outside, safe... right where I can see it...

Wait a sec...I am confused?
7 quarts? 80w20? 0w20?? I would check that dipstick as soon as you can.

I get a wobble like this too. It is weird as it seems to lessen throughout the day, the more I drive. For me it is always worse around 60mph. I used to think it was my tires but it is still there after I got the Firestones.

Hmm... researching 0w-20, not sure if good or bad... I am at 161k. The car seems to like it. Oil level is good.

Here's a thread;

Just in case, tho... swapping it out first chance I get.

They put the wrong viscosity oil in? Nearly $100 you spent and now you got to do it all over again. Yikes!

So they retorqued the suspension components it sounds like. Ive had a similar intermittent issue for years along with other folks. Would be nice to narrow down.

Doubtful as the level is good. I reckon the initial 80w20 means 8 quarts of 0w20.

Also, Everything on their menu's and placards says 'corvette - 7-quarts'... its probably labeled as such as not to scare the native folk with having to put in 8-quarts in an engine lol

Level is good. Oil, not so sure...

In cooler temps, some tires will tend to flat spot over night. After about 10 to 15 minutes of driving, the tire warms up. Not sure how you define your wobble and if it goes away. To my knowledge, 80W20 doesn't exist. So 8 quarts of 0W20. Check dipstick for correct level and if it was 80W20, you would know it. How will the car pass inspection with the airbag light?
