Wife purchased for 70th birthday 2015 LLT.

Question: Have added bolt on lift pads to the pinch welds, is it safe to use the
trunk contained emergency jack to change out a roadside flat with the spare?
How stable is the jack contact to the lift pad? Comments and advice please. Will remove pads if advised!
