Jacking points

I am not clear on the correct jacking points on this car. I know it does not come with a jack, but you need to be able to jack it up.

Last week I did jack it up to pull the wheels off to install splash guards, but I was guessing at where to place the jack.

For the rear, I used my aluminum racing jack and placed a small piece of wood on the jack puck and lifted in front of the rear tire on the frame rail.

But I could not see a frame rail in the front..so I switched to my truck's hand jack and found what looked like a cut out in the plastic rocker and jacked behind the front tire in that cut out.

ALso wondering if I take my car to a garage and they have the scissors type hydraulic lift, where do I tell them to position the blades?

I might put a small red dot on the jack ponts once I am convinced I know where they are.

Thanks,

Bob

Very nice! I just logged in to search this and luckily i found it at the top of the list. I am jacking up my car tomorrow to remove my brake calipers. The car will sit on jack stands until they are done. Having Mike powder coat them.

Please be careful!!...Once you have it on two stands (up front, say) be careful jacking the rear one corner at a time...especially if you're not dead level...don't tip it too much, it'll roll off...If your gonna do all four at once...I suggest put the wheels and tires on some blocks first...set your jacks close, then go a little higher for each jack to get the blocks out...
...with four jackstands, please be level and be careful...

Looks like GraySS2011 was right about the cut out in the plastic for the jack. Thank you camaroc5 for the picture as well.

It's obviously important to know where to put the jack, excellent and informative post.

For the rear end I use the lower control arms and for the front end I use the frame.

So looking at the pics if you need to raise the vehicle by the "Scissor Jack Points" does one need the "adapter pucks" like I've seen for Vettes and unibody cars in general?
