Have it happen all the time; I'll pass someone in their mini van, SUV, Civic, etc. etc. that had been perfectly content riding in the right lane doing the speed limit, next thing I know they are coming up on me fast, so I move over and let them pass. Maintaining the speed I normally cruise at (80-90), next thing I know, I'm passing them again a couple miles down the road. The one's I really get a kick out of are those who've I passed a second time only to look my mirror and see them coming up fast again. Happens all the time in my Corvette as well, guess it's just something about these type cars that triggers something in others to try and prove 'something', whatever that may be .. or it's just that their petty jealousy get's the better of them .. lol. Regardless of the 'why', when it happens, I usually just maintain my speed and let them do their thing .. unless there is very little to no traffic and I'm feeling like having a little fun

I've only had a honda, a couple subarus and a pick up truck screw around with me. Other than that just people yelling at me to rev it or spin the tires.

Had someone in a truck follow me on a rural back road. One of those undulating, twisty-turnsy kind or roads. Didn’t matter how fast I would go, this person would match me. I think they realized after about the second or third turn that the high center of gravity on their “race” truck was not going to feel very comfortable powering through the corners. I suspect there was a moment of “ think I just soiled myself” and suddenly they were in the distance. Oh...and at no time was I over the speed limit....whilst doing this in....Mexico.

Around my car it seems like every single Mustang will challenge me, no matter the engine. Also get a lot of Honda and other fart can imports trying to get frisky.

But you can't always judge a book by it's cover. Had a guy in an old and beat up primer black 1990's Honda Civic hatchback pull up next to me once. Right before the light changed he hit the 2 stage and I could tell that thing was a monster. Flames, popping, and what sounded like a damn jumbo jet getting ready for take off. Once the light changed he was freaking gone. Glad I didn't try that time.

Putting together a cheap chinese turbo build into just about anything is getting very easy and much more common these days. You never know who is going to stomp you.

I hate all the grandpa sports car drivers in my city. Every Sunday is like a car show. Every nice muscle car you could imagine. All polished up and going 5 under the speed limit in the slow lane. Can never get anyone to bite.

1 time I had a guy in a sexy C7 reving at me. I’d rev at him. We would gas it and let off, laughing our asses off the whole time because of the cop 30 ft in front of us. Hah.

Since i’m mostly commuting on the streets, it’s not so much passing as tailgating. Still annoying, but it’s a matter of applying a little more throttle and they’re gone.

How so? You have an LS with the usual speakers based on your avatar? Unless you upgraded? I have a 2010 2LT with the Boston Acoustic speakers and it doesn't do it for me. Even with my former 2011 2LT - NADA. However in my Nissan Xterra with the RockFord Fosgate system in it which comes OEM for the PRO-4X models- it thumps. Not sure if I relate to your bump like bump HA!

Tail-gating isn't a problem... people can't butt hug my rear.

This is part of why I like driving stick. At 2500rpm, you're already pushing more power than most cars do 4500rpm... and keeping it in gear enjoying that exhaust roaring one moment, anyone wanting to stay on my ass quickly gets smaller in my rear view. Tail-gating, not a problem.

If I'm cruising and some one pulls up to my rear fast, give it a 5mph jump in a blink of an eye and most get the hint to go around. They signal, they merge, they creep up and pass... almost carefuly, and if they need to merge again into my lane, they signal again... its like driving school, lol... most don't fly by me. Probably because they don't want me flying by them in return.

Yeah, these cars man... its a whole nother world... shit like this don't happen in the pickup.

This ^^^^. That's why I love manual tranmissions. You can be right smack middle in that sweet spot when driving around. With a little blip of the throttle, you accelerate instantly.

If you have aftermarket sway bars, it's even more fun going around corners. I like it when people think they can keep up with me in turns. I always see them slow down trying to navigate the turn as they lean in getting smaller and smaller in my rear view mirror. Fun fun fun!

I've moved on from the Camaro, but this site has such great people I still drop by every couple of days and peruse so my story isn't in a Camaro but in my '18 Q60 RS400.

Sorry for the long story :(

As I was driving home yesterday on a major freeway I passed a gentleman in a white Chevy EconoBox who was in the fast lane since he was going slower than I wanted. I didn't overtake him like a butt head or anything, just a normal pass with plenty of distance b/w us. He proceeded to floor it so he could pass me(I wasn't really accelerating any longer as I reached my cruising speed). After that he could be seen dangerously weaving in and out of traffic and riding peoples bumpers like he was being towed. Well we happen to get off at the same exit but he chose the left most turn lane that goes right. I chose the right lane that had more traffic. This line moves faster since you can turn right on red in the right most lane. I was able to go after just a few seconds but he had to sit for quite a while. I made it about 5 miles down the road and could see the turn in for my neighborhood. Next thing I know here comes Angry EconoBox flying up on my rear almost nailing me. Side note - the car is Dynamic Sunstone Red so it's not like he didn't see it. So this upset me just a little b/c we are now near where kids cross the road and such but he is driving super recklessly. He's now behind me and I need to turn in to my neighborhood. There is traffic in the lane next to me so he has no choice but to stay behind me. I proceed to let off the gas to slow down and make sure to be like little ole gramma who can only take turns at 5mph when you could easily do it at 25... Poor guy about had a heart attack looking for a way to pass me again but he couldn't.

Call me Richard Petty but I find it funny when people drive like complete butt holes with no regard for others around them and then get slowed way down for a bit.
