Very SMART move by you guys. It's a conservative tune which will make your car last for a long time.

I asked this up front.. LPE will work with quality Tuning shops like Janetty racing, or my local Chevrolet service department for issues.

Anything major would have to go back to LPE - Customer is responsible for shipping car both ways.
Thanks guys for the response. I was hoping for a full drivetrain warranty. Kind of like a Roush Mustang. Great to know they will work with the dealer and LPE is not to far away.

The stock driveline is supposed to handle a ton of power but with stock cars breaking half shafts I am nervous about adding more power. I have seen the link for the 1000hp half shafts but at 1850 bucks they are crazy pricey. (I did not buy a Porsche but a Camaro.) I had a 670 HP blown Mustang with a fully built rearend and it cost my around 2k to build the whole rearend. Axles were only 400 bucks. I expected the half shafts to be more but not almost 5 times the price. Daily drove the car and drag raced it on 10.5 inch slicks for years with no issues.

When I build my Camaro I want the same reliability.

Guess I will have to wait a little more... for more driveline options and more realistic prices. Hope SEMA has some good stuff released for our cars.

Still sounds like LPE will be on my short list for the engine mods.

Part of what you need to remember is if they didn't install or supply the components, why would anyone warranty it.
Lingenfelter will stand behind their work, not Chevy's mistakes.
By the way, Speed still has the OEM half shafts on his car. I am inclined to believe he is guilty of "torture testing" them. No attrition as of yet.

Both Speed and I are presently on stock Half shafts..

As long as you don't keep burning rubber when wheel hop occurs, they will probably last and take the abuse. Wheel hop will kill parts.

Speed and I are on the Spohn half shaft Axle pre-buy...

On LPE warranty, like Windy said asking them to warrant the whole drivetrain is akin to asking the plumber to warrant you entire homes electrical when all he did was install a dishwasher.

Also remember the LPE name and reputation is also worth a little more.

Would be cool to hang out again.

To everyone who doesn't know D R. He helped me out when I picked up my car from LPE. Picked us up from the airport, went on the tour with us and hung out until my car was done that day. He is a great guy!! Congrats on getting your car back
I can tell you the dyno doesn't due it justice, it feels like way more power when your out driving around. Graham did an awesome job with the transmission tune. He deleted the AFM which also made a big difference.

I had the opportunity to drive mine for about a month before handing it over to LPE and I was pretty impressed with the low end grunt that it had from the factory. After getting it back this weekend and driving it for several days, I can tell you that it is a completely different car. At the present I'm kinda speechless, what a work of art those guys at LPE turn out. I'm an LPE lifer for sure..

Ya living by the shop does have it's advantages, like all of us going to the drag strip tonight, and being invited to there (LPE) test and tune days at the track. I just saw Nathan last night (taking mine out for a cruise, we live in the same addition), he was loading up his vette for LPE's test and tune day today. Tonight is the last official test and tune event down in Muncie. I can't wait to see what kinda times I can lay down.

I would love to make it down to GA for the event, I didn't catch all the details, so you'll have to get me up to speed.. Sounds like a really good time !!

I think the stock half-shafts will probably take the abuse, if your not wheel hopping all over the place. I think OrangeChevy has run his at the track 60+ times on the stock half shafts and he is running 10.80's on nitrous. I ordered some new ones just to be on the safe side. My stock ones have been "torture" tested for sure!!

D R - Have fun at the track tonight. I am sure you will have some rubber to clean off of your fenders. I was out driving around about 10pm last night and it was about 45 degrees out - oh my god - did I have some fun. I obeyed all the speed limits and laws of course.

Good to know what their warranty is. It would be nice if it was like a Roush Stang. For similar money spent you get a full powertrain warranty.
http://www.roushperformance.com/perf...10/540rh.shtml

I would be nice if GM and LPE worked out a similar deal. I love my Camaro but it does seem GM is more restrictive than Ford when it comes to tuners and modding the car. For me it is more of a piece of mind thing. I have had built cars in the past but this time I want one with a warranty like a Roush and hoped LPE could offer it. (Guess as I get older I want my cake and eat it too. LOL)

As you guys have a 570 Maro. What kind of 1/4 mile slips are you seeing with these cars?

I have had it at the drag strip twice so far. My best I have run on the stock tires is a 12.4 @ 117mph. There is definately a traction issue and it was mid September and humid as hell. If I ran it now in 50 deg weather there would be a big difference. I have DR's for next year on the way. My time slip is over in the Drag Time section. Here is a video of one of my first runs........ I know - I probably heated up the stock tires a little too much but it sure was fun
