But you should take the radiator cap off and warm up the car again. Keep trying to get the bubbles out by running with the cap off. If the coolant level goes down in the radiator, fill the radiator not the reservoir before putting the cap back on.

Then adjust the surge tank level.

Finger's crossed, this will do the trick. She is a stubborn Beast and we thought burping her for almost 30 minutes would do the trick.

Or stop by a garage that has a coolant vacuum and have them do it. Till then keep the cap off and after it’s warmed up bring it to 2k rpm for a minute and and see if you can get it to purge that way.

I would also squeeze the main coolant hoses as the car runs to try to get more air pushed up/out.

So I did all the above that you guys mentioned. Squeezed the hose, rev'd to 2K, let idle etc.
Loads of air bubbles came out. Fans kicked on at 208, and temperature held at 216 for a solid hour. This is the lowest I have seen the car's temperature in a long time.

Going to change her oil and baby her a little till I have full confidence.
As a first time poster, I appreciate your help.

Heck ya, glad it worked! Tomorrow I would go out and just double check the coolant level too. I bet you'll have some bubbles rise up overnight.

The 2k idle works good for a lot of cars glad it helped. Plus this place is full of knowledgeable and helpful people no matter who the person is.

I did mine last month and when I though I had it all out I brought the RPMs up and a huge bubble came out and spit out about 12 oz all over the place after that no trouble.

If you ever need to test a thermostat instead of buying one, just put in a pan with water and turn on the heat. a thermometer helps but it should open before the water boils. If the water boils and it never moves, its bad.
