Going to North Island next spring...hope they do away with the stickers. When i first came in I remember them just waving people through and no id check. Now, like others have said, it's kinda pointless to have the stickers if you have the id.

It is nice that the Air Force has pretty much done away with the stickers, but when I had to get a new one, it was always top of windshield centered.

Just gotta get around to scraping it off the 95's windshield one of these days.

Moody was a fun assignment, was there from May 99 - Mar 01.

On glass it is real easy to get them off. On warmer days just slap an ice cube on it to cool it down, then razor them off slowly...it also helps to lay some clear packaging tape over them first, so you have something to grip when you're peeling it back.

Oh yea, if you ain't airborne...

And Fort Riley has stopped using them as well. I don't know if it is a permanent change, budgeting, or common sense. I just know I do not need them anymore. They made this change the week I bought my car - NO STICKER for me!

Personally, I don't really care for the stickers. Most of the time they start to peel off within a year and look like crap. I work at NWS Yorktown and they still require the stickers. Biggest waste of time and money. While I was deployed to Bahrain they just scanned your ID card. Works alot easier that way!

Just registered 3 cars on Fort Leavenworth and the stickers are required still.
We'll catch up to the flybois in a few years (like usual)
You have it backwards. The Air Force is going back to the stickers. Read it in the times a few months ago.

The sticker also proves that you have insurance and registration. Honestly, they should make people re-register yearly.

And for the love of god people, take the damn stickers off when you sell a car!

And to get all the glue off, get some foamy type glass cleaner. Spray it liberally over the sticker. Take razer and start working it. Let the glass cleaner lubricate, and it will take it all off with ease.

In Vegas all they have to do is check the reg sticker on the license plate so no need for the ugly base stickers on the windsheild

I always liked having a base sticker on my car... I was kinda disapointed when the Air Force did away with them after 9/11.

When I was in back in the 80's and early 90's at Carswell AFB, TX, the DOD stickers were required to be attached to the front bumper on the driver's side.

I never did that, I put them on the windshield in the lower corner on the driver's side. I wasn't about to stick anything to the paint.

Of course when you're a Security Policeman in the USAF, there's some things we let each other get away with.

To remove that freaking glue, just use "Goo Gone" WITHOUT the acetone. There's two versions, one with acetone and the other made with orange oil(safe for paint and smells good).
