IMO The max MPH your Camaro can do at the end of a quarter mile track is as fast as you need to go.

Just makes sense to me...
some straights are longer then 1/4 mile. so you want a higher top end then that instant acceleration.

I think with the front end blocked in and taped up it could get to about 170 until drag started to take's it tool.

Sure interstate 10 has straights longer than 1/4 mile.

I'd like to see one track where a 2010 production "Camaro" would compete, that has straights longer than a quarter mile.

I can tell you that the SRT engineers say my Challenger will run 176 MPH. This was the recorded speed by the SRT engineers. The Camaro is a little lighter and I would GUESS about the same drag coieficiant. I would imagine they would be within 10 MPH of each other.

I ran up to 144 "on the digtal speedo" a couple of times in mine sunday, it felt twice as stable as the 08 ZHZ Corvette I rented at that speed! my Garmin showed max speed of 139. That was in 5th @ 5800rpm, if I wasn't thinking of the front bumper cracking I might have gone for the limiter...love those long straight Nevada roads!

You're wrong. Yes the tires are z rated but they have a y after the ZR. As in 86Y or something like that. That means speeds up to 186mph.

Went to Milemarker 1 in Miami the other week. 151 in the standing mile is what we did bone stock. That was close to redline in 4th gear when I hit the mile mark. We ran the slightly modded 09 ZR1 at 189 that day. Now if we just had longer than a mile to go........well we still had 5th gear to go through and the useless 6th gear.

When it runs out of speed that's as fast as it will go.

Brought it up to 150 and it felt as stable as my 335i. Now back to driving like my grandmother.
