I am going to look at a 91 Maxima today to teach Kris on. She claims she doesnt know how to drive it but actually she does, she is just afraid that she isnt good enough to drive the 'Maro. So I will let her practice on something she can drive daily.

Good idea! It was driving that Citation to work every day that summer where I really learned. My route was on country roads, one of which had a stop sign on a hill.

I learned how to drive a stick on a 4 speed 1984 Subaru hatchback... lets not go over all the stuff I had to do to make it go into 4wd mode. I when my dad retired I used it to go to work and boy that was tough with 20miles of stop and go traffic... by then it was 5 years old and I bought my own car (automatic) and gave it back to my dad. it got rid of it shortly there after because it was falling apart.... gee wonder why? I didn't go back to manual until my 2000 TA (1 year old RIP) and 2000 camaro SS.

EM,

Thanks again for recommending the Amber Rose Restaurant. I ate there last night and loved it. The Sauerkraut Balls appetizer was delicious. I got the Lithuanian Sampler and loved the sausage/sauerkraut and kugelis. The first beer was 10 cents and each subsequent beer only a dollar. I defintely want to go back again.

Glad you liked it! I had the $.10 beer, didn't know it was still on special. I'm still up for having a December get-together there.

We need a November get together too. I should have the Camaro5 cards today/tomorrow and can pass them around.

We need some ideas for get togethers.

I am in for November and December. Here are dates I can not meet:

November 5-11
November 16
November 23
November 26-30

December 6-14
December 24-28

Other then that, I am game for anything, anywhere, weekend or weekday. Amber Rose sounds like a winner!

Hey, has anyone tried the side (indentation/vent) adhesive inlays? Was wondering how it turns out?

Agree! And thanks for doing the cards.

For our event, are we looking at a driving activity, or just getting together? Since many of you don't have suitable cold-weather tires, I wasn't sure. If it's just a get-together, Amber Rose seems to be of interest. Or we could get together at someone's house for a bonfire, potluck or something like that.

I have been thinking about giving them a try, but haven't ordered them.

I put the solid vinyl ones on. I am happy so far, the black looks good against the silver.

I think for us unless it is a really indian summer, it will be a non-camaro event.

As far as the bonfire/pot luck I have the perfect place to do that but not sure if everyone would want to come all the way to my place. Its about 1:45 from Dayton and Columbus. I have a huge yard with a bon fire pit and about 12 wooded acres for ninjas to play in. I also have an old jeep and a 4 wheeler to drive on the trails in the woods. Its really fun and anyone is welcome to have a try at it. I think we only put like 500 miles on the Jeep last year. It really needs driven. This is how I usually treat it.

It may be late in the year to plan something at our place but if people were willing to make the drive, you would all be welcome. For the next GTG, since we are sort of the odd balls, we are ok with driving to Dayton, esp. for the Amber Rose.

For a meeting in Dayton for dinner at the Amber Rose, best for me would be a friday since we are already in Cinci but not a big deal if we did a saturday, we could just drive up.

Something else I was thinking about is we need to get a contact list going. For example getting numbers for members that don't pop up very often would be good. I haven't seen hide nor hair of 1 RD JEWL or jrmurphy33. Both who seem interested in future gatherings....

and whatever happened to Steve/diaboli?? I'd be game for any get-togethers but since I run a museum my weekends usually consist of only Saturdays after 4 and Sundays.

Amber Rose is indeed so yummy - I think you got in on the Oktoberfest beer prices, Heinz & EM!!

Has anyone else noticed the days JR can't go are prime shopping days? You going out to stand in line or in the cold at 3 AM... Me I'm hiding under the desk until the dust settles! Just kidding
