What level is normal for engine shaking
6.2L Manual tranny
Hi everyone, I was doing some hard stops to test my brakes after a brake bleed. One in particular felt disproportionate to the speed. It made me and the things in my passenger seat really fly forward. Maybe that is nothing maybe that is something. However it got me thinking this might be related to a problem I noticed shortly after: engine shaking. I’ve attached a link to a youtube video. In the video it looks way more mild than in real life. I suggest keeping your eye on the chevy writing on the beauty cover. Any tips if this is normal or if I should get it checked out by a mechanic would be appreciated. I don't think I'd be too worried about it. You could always do a compression test and see how each cylinder is performing. The compression tester is cheap, like $40.
Now if you had a monster cam in your car like I do, then your entire car would shake non stop LOL. |

It looks a lot worse in real life. Could be age and things loosening but not like i remember it just a few days ago. Would be great if anyone has a bone stock they can compare the shaking to |

Just wanted to link to a former thread where this is discussed:
https://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=32190 Seems to be normal, I’d draw attention to post 21, where poster has noticed shaking magnifies over time. Probably just what got me worked up Last edited by Cash, Gas & A SS; 06-24-2021 at 08:36 AM. |

I also wouldn't worry too much about it as long as the car is running good. These LS's do have what has been referred to as "the LS shake", and for some reason you just noticed it. I also back when mine was new and I saw a post from someone on this forum asked about it, wasn't until then did I notice mine. Now like op above, I have a big cam and all and the entire car rocks and rolls like a nervous beast!!

Something to look for if you have stock mounts as the car ages: Good picture of a leaking bushing
