I think with using the grinder, one should look where the hot sparks go to :(

Check out the prices on 20" winter tires compared to 18". 20's cost a lot more and and very limited selection.

I think I'm gonna take this route and stay with a stock LS look ... glad I found this thread!

Any idea what the clearance is around the caliper? I have the early production setup with the stick on weights, wondering if I'll nee to take them off.

The studs don't have to be cut if a 1.5" spacer is used instead of a 1" spacer. The stock 14mm studs are 1.5" long. A full set of brand new 18's with 245/55R 18 BF Goodrich T/A Specs go for around 3-$400, including, caps, trim rings and TPMS. Besides the thinner tires do a lot better in the NE winter season.

Can anyone confirm this? I have the 18s and was hoping to mount on my SS for winter.

I used 30mm bolt on spacers and just the rounded off tops of the studs needed to be cut off; none of the threads need to be touched. 1-1/2" spacers would def make the wheels poke out of the wheel wells a bit more. Currently they're barely within the body line.

I may have to go with real winter tires next year as the all-seasons that came with my set are starting to dry rot

I have a full set of heritage wheels/caps with studded winter tires... then added Brembos and screwed myself over. May end up doing this, as I want to run narrow tires instead of the wide 245 snows I put on a set of 19" LT wheels.
I just hate spacers, but this may be the way to go.

Not sure if anyone is still interested in doing this but if so I have some information I would like to share that may help a fellow camaro brother out. So long story short I bought these heritage style wheels for my 2014 Camaro 2SS (with Brembos) thinking since they just came off a Camaro (V6) they would surely fit on mine. Well as you all can imagine they didn't fit. So I dug around on the internet and found this thread along with a few others and all came to the conclusion that wheel spacers will definitely be needed. I read different sizes here and there with 1" being the common. Then someone here mentioned if you got 1 1/2" you might not need to slice your skates off or top off your studs. So I when for it! And turns out they fit like a charm with that size. 38mm (1.50") 5x4.75 Hubcentric Wheel Spacers (66.9mm Hub) is the size I bought off Amazon. Finished product down below.

If anyone would like to see pics of the adapter before the wheel is on or has any questions just let me know....

Thanks,
S
