Hey man, I have the same issue. Few month ago I bought 2010 camaro SS and it had the same symptoms, unpleasant vibrations at 20 - 60 mph, looks like a bad torque converter and / or bad solenoid valves in the transmission. I went to the local GM dealer in London, they drived a bit, then turned off Dod/AFM system from their handheld computer. The issue dissapeared and they said that Dod/AFM system parts must be replaced. It is very expensive to do this kind of works in the official GM centers so I am looking to do it at side.
I am a total newbie with GM cars and ask you to help me collect all parts for restoting this AFM system. We have very expensive Premium Gas so I am looking to not to delete it. I am looking at RockAuto website and need your help, sirs, because could not understand wich lifters I have to order. Here is the link: https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/...ve+lifter,5548 My car's vin number begins with 2G1FK1E... For example that page suggests SEALED POWER HT2148A Fits Active Fuel Management Engine; HT-2418A For Intake and Exhaust on Cylinder 2358; HT-2303 For Intake and Exhaust on Cylinder 1467; Riveted Retaining Pin; Hydraulic Roller Lifters or Non Active Fuel Management Engine; Riveted Retaining Pin; Hydraulic Roller Lifters Does these lifters are applicable for my L99 engine ? If yes, how many of them I need to buy ? Or on Ebay I could find this set https://www.ebay.com/itm/224462284748 and as mentioned above https://www.ebay.com/itm/163460304922?epid=10027523741 Could anybody help to collect all needed parts... The non name lifters on ebay are DOD lifters, but I would not install a no name lifter in my engine. Anything that comes through Walnut California is likely counterfeit junk from China. The Elgin Lifters listed earlier in this discussion are also non-dod lifters. You need 8 each of the lifters listed here or trace part numbers that match these; https://www.gmpartsonline.net/v-2014...engine--engine |

I would also add to both PlymouthBarracuda and GenesisCoupe that I've been on here since 2017 and I don't remember anyone tracing "engine vibration to the AFM. Collapsed lifters and destroyed cams, yes. But not anything that came and went by simply turning the AFM/DOD on and off.

Thank you all for replies, really helps. I agree that every part coming from Wulnut and some other places in California are Chinese junk.
So, I will replace only DOD 8 lifters and valley cover. When car goes into V4 mode my feelings bring to mind vibrations, that disappear when Range OBD is plugged

Is I understood, all that I need is to replace 8 DOD lifters for intake and exaust. Are they on cylinder 1,4,6,7 or 2,3,5,8 ? Which one from this list are applicable ? I lost my head too many options )) https://www.drivcat.com/ |
