Thinking of putting a deposit down

So my local chevy dealership told me they have 20 deposits and that for $500 I could have #21
The douche didnt sound like he knew too much about the camaro at all. He had to ask if it had a 3.6 or 3.9 but he said he thought it was the 3.9 before asking.

So I figured you guys would be the best to ask the questions I didnt ask that turd.

Is there a list out that shows the options for the LT and SS? Id like to kinda build what I want now.

Also are dealerships only getting so many camaros? Id hate to wait only to hear that they only ended up getting 20 camaros and now I have to wait for some other dealership to come up with the camaro I want, considering most 2010 V8 camaros are going to be snatched up so quick.

Lastly, if I put a deposit down and dont like the deal we workout can I get my money back? He said they are selling for MSRP and not a penny more. But I want to try and get $1k below MSRP

I'll wait till supply meets demand then buy on my terms. I don't do deposits. Negotiate terms THEN show the dough. Sounds fishy...You gonna know when he gets car #21? Keep your cash and walk away till he has em on the lot. Don't worry, they're gonna build plenty.

Better idea, find out when the dealership owners yaught payment is due and go in the day before

<edit> If the dealership wants $500 before even negotiating a deal take your business down the road.

Get the dealer to say it will be MSRP in writing. That's all you really need.

This isn't a limited build car. When you see Camaros on his lot go in with cash and good credit, see how quick he puts you at the front of his "list".
(I think you posted this in the wrong area. Still a good post tho.)

The pricing information hasn't been listed anywhere yet. A short list of options can be found on this site. The thread is titled 2010 Camaro Spec List or something like that. It's on the front page, you can't miss it.

Most of these price gouging douche bags are going to be highly disappointed when they get 100 Camaros in each dealership with a tag that is $5,000 over MSRP. Maybe they'll sell the first twenty on the waiting list, and maybe another 20 the next month, but come May, they'll be begging you to take 'em off their hands for the listed price. Not to say the Camaro isn't worth every penny, it is. It's worth every penny the General tells those pencil d!ck$ it's worth, and not a penny over! I'll snatch the waiting list from them and wipe my @$$ with it before I put my name on it! They need to show some ! Look at the Chally. It's a great car (not as great as the Camaro) but if you want one, look on EBAY. You can find 'em for less than MSRP. So to all you price gouging dealers out there...:middlefinger: (If your an honest dealer like Scotty, disregard, 'cause YOU 'DA MAN!)

Don't do it.....there will be plenty to go around.I'm on several lists and didn't have to put any deposit down. They just want a deposit so they have some control over you.

Look at this thread, there's two California dealers listed who said they will sell at MSRP.

http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=621

If you want to buy at 1K Below MSRP, you'll have to wait until later in the year after the initial frenzy dies down...IMO
