A shift in thinking

Living in L.A. there are literally a TON of cars driving around, so there are plenty of opportunities to observe trends as far as who's driving what and pondering the reasons "why?". One thing I've noticed with the late model Mustang is that there are a LOT more guys/dudes/men rolling around in the V6 model. It's been talked about on Camaro5 how V6 Mustangs seem to be driven predominantly by females, but with the cost of gas going up I think many new car buyers have become more conscious as to what cars offer better fuel economy that fit their personal needs on whatever level, including performance and style. So I definitely expect to see a lot of dudes rolling around in V6 Camaros, no question.

With the price of gas still going up, the V8 mustangs are now littering used car lots, people cant trade them in fast enough. You can pick up a used 06 with less than 30k miles for well under 15k here in phx.

I understand them.. Just filled up my truck.. $80.00 now per week(up from $60.00). Gas is finally getting to a point where I'm looking at alternate transportation. The only problem is that if I go with my plan and buy my motorcycle.. It will delay me buying a camaro by 6-8 months... and I'm not too keen on that at the moment.

Buy a beater Civic or something, or maybe you can lease a Cobalt for cheap?

The motorcycle I'm looking at is only 3500.00 cash, and $25.00/month in insurance. Not even a beater civic/cobalt can beat that.

you know i got my ducati (1997 750 monster) a 3 or 4 years ago for about that price. i think it was $4k but it only had 5k miles on it. i could still sell it for about the same amount. if i did the 12k tune up and new tires.

i am thinking about...... to help out the camaro fund.

Anything that's going to help get you into the 5th-gen you need to pursue!

Why would you put 12K into a 4K motorcycle? That just doesn't seem worth it....

I assume you meant $1200, not $12000....just giving you some crap.

I think he meant a service for being at 12,000 miles.

Anyway, I expect to see a lot of V6 Camaros simply because its better fuel economy and a rumored 300 horses. 300 horses at approx. 30mpg? I'll take that (ok, what I will really take is the V8, but thats beside the point). A Prius gets about 45mpg and it can't even get out of its own way.
