Sunroof Problems

Hi, I'm the original owner of my 2012 45th Anniversary Edition w/Sunroof.
The sunroof opened fine this morning but will not close all the way now. It closes about 2-3 inches from the fully opened position. I can open it again (the 2-3 inches), it had to move. But again, closing only 2-3 inches. I tried every possible combination of turning the ignition on/off in between and after trying to open/close it normally.
I wiped and cleaned off the rails and contact points. No visible scrapes, damage or blockages found.
Any help would be greatly appreciated before I take it down to a dealer. I've read some horror stories about it requiring 6+ hours or more for even the dealer to work on. :(
Thanks!

Motor or regulator going out? I believe you still have to drop the headliner to gain access to these parts. Price it out at your local auto parts store and see if it's something you can do on your own to save you some money

Thank you all for the ideas and suggestions on my sunroof. I went into it a little and decided not to tear into the headliner and go any further.
I took it to Kearny Mesa Chevrolet, here in San Diego since they have been good to me on two other GM vehicles. Dropped it off at noon and had it the next day afternoon. It WAS the sunroof motor that was bad. Parts $240.00 and $308.00 in labor. I'm HAPPY! It's fixed and works.
Thanks again!
