At your age you don't have anything to prove!!!! Who ever doesn't like it really doesn't matter. I hope your in shape because you will have to be fighting with the teenage, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, and 70 year old women to keep them off of you knowing that you drive THE CAMARO!!!!!

Hey most of the people flipping out over my new Camaro is YOUR AGE! If you want it, by all means get it. You're on this rock just one time.

1st post here, (been reading a lot over the weeks though). I'm 66 and of the mindset that if you are too old to drive a Camaro (or any other performance vehicle) you might as well go get on the list for the old folks home.

Yesterday I got to test drive a 2LT (at Sir Walter Chevy in Raleigh) with the Automatic. That 300 HP V6 is a very peppy engine. As much as I am a V8 kind of guy I'd have to get the V6 just because the additional $ to get the V8 is is too high for my blood.

Besides I can take that money and put it toward an engine upgrade on my 86 Vette so I can run it at the Maxton Mile here in North Carolina to get my high speed fix.

The car had the RS package and I liked the wheels but I'm not a fan of spoilers (unless its on a race car) and would see if it could be a delete option if I ordered a car. I really liked the front grill look with the headlights

I was impressed with the Camaro all the way around. Nice comfortable interior (I'm 5'-10, 225#). Plenty of headroom (car didn't have the sun roof) and legroom.

Didn't have a problem with the 'turret' feeling inside. I drive with the side mirrors anyway and the inside mirror just covered the rear window so I didn't see any interior in the mirror.

Nice driving car too.

That trunk opening is really funky and you will have an impossible time fitting anything big through it (not that the trunk can hold much anyway). No biggie. Just buy a sedan if you want trunk space.

I didn't sit in the back seat but you can tell there is NO legroom. No big thing again because if I wanted the rear leg room of a sedan I'd buy a sedan.

The one thing that seemed sort of 'basic' was the gauges. Both Speedo and tach and the aux gauge cluster on the hump. Sort of the 1960's 'chrome plated plastic look'.

I do see a couple of 'senior citizens' driving newer vettes around here and I'd like to smack them silly. Slow, pokey, etc. they sure don't subscribe to the notion of 'drive it like you stole it'.

Your age is all in your mind. I say if you want a Camaro then go for it. Life is too short to meander your way through life.

You can always put a bumper sticker on the Camaro (I don't believe I actually said that) that says you are spending your kids inheritance.

See this thread about getting the car without a spoiler:

I don't think your ever too old unless your reflexes and vision are declining noticeably. I thought it was funny when I got my Spec-V five years ago and I girl I worked with said "what are you going thru a mid-life crisis or something?"
I did'nt say anything, but thought to myself this is just a sporty 4 door compact. I was only 34 at the time, but I did'nt think the comment was appropriate. I was using it to deliver pizza at the time, but so what...

Remember my first post? The day is almost FINALLY here!!!!!!!!
After ordering in May...............after FINALLY locating a car which I could sit in and test drive...............at a dealer around 30 miles away.............sitting at 1100 FOREVER (didn't understand the Allocation thing at first)..........then locating a dealer (in July) (5 hours away) with an available allocation coming up and ordering...................the car is now on a railcar in Atlanta!!!!

THIS IS THE WEEK that this 71 year old gets his 5th generation Camaro!
THANKS for all the great positive comments and encouragement that I'm not too old to drive one! I do think I'm a kid who refuses to grow up! But you guys (and gals) have confirmed that it's OK for a senior citizen to also like and drive a HOT CAR.

A FIVE HOUR DRIVE is what it is taking for me to get a Camaro. But, what's the saying? "WHERE THERE IS A WILL, THERE IS A WAY!" I wasn't interested in waiting until I grew any older! Do I hear an "AMEN"?

AMEN!!!

Let me tell you first off...you're on a computer...you're using a forum...and your grammar is flawless...you are not "old".

Second, you'd rather drive a Camaro, than a Lexus, or Honda, or whatever. You are not "old".

Third -- CONGRATS!!!! You're going to love it, I'm sure!!
