This is the same webestos sunroof as on the gp. There are no rails on the roof. There are two platics supports (may have metal inside) that tilt up at the back then give the clearance to miss the roof. But they are attached inside the opening so there is nothing to touch the roof.
I have not seen a roof with rails since the early 80's. |

I don't like convertibles. Noisy, tons of wear and tear, maintenance, and clouded rear windows to deal with. Not to mention a vert flexes more. No thanks. |

I think I looks pretty good. I woldnt give up the mohawk for it( Not really partial to sunroofs in sports cars.) but it looks good none the less.

The hawk looks better for sure and GM could have done better with the sunroof. I had a 92 Grand Prix and when the sunroof was opened it went into the roof, not sticking out like modern cars. Why they stopped doing that i dont know because it looked way better and didnt make much noise either

Also, I would think this makes less noise than the sunroofs that go into the roof, just because the sound is behind the opening, whereas the inroof ones have the same effect as someone blowing over the top of a bottle or something. I dunno sue me but I think GM did yet another thing right with this car... It makes me very anxious to think that I will have to wait to get my hands on the one car that I can single out as THE car I really want, and not just A car that looks good. |

The right way to stop the wind buffeting you dislike is to put a spring loaded wind deflector on the leading edge of the opening that pops up when the roof opens, This is not a pie-in-the-sky idea. It's how they do it. If you look at the pictures, they DID put a deflector on the front edge, so there's no reason to put the roof on top behind the opening. If anything, the roof up like that probably increases drag and reduces mileage. So sue me too, 'cause they did something not pleasing. |

I'm not interested in the sunroof not because of its design but I just don't particularly like them, not on a performance car at any rate. However I counldn't agree more with what you said. This is the first car I have ever had to have. Now I'm probably going to wind up like my father who can't stop talking about his '63 Buick Riviera he had over fourty years ago. He actually beat a corvette in it while carrying three extra passengers. So after getting to see this car and how much I look forward to it I can see why he loved his old Riviera so much. I guess I was born a chevy guy and the Camaro will be my first new car, I still can't believe how much I love the design I mean wow, I'm still awe struck by Gm building the car we (the multitudes that love this car) want and saying screw you to the bean counters I think they may have figured out how to make money if they could just use this philosophy for all their cars. Thank You GM.

I never saw what was so special about the Reverse Mohawk. It does look nice, but I guess it just never made the same impression on me as it made on so many other people here. The sunroof does look a little awkward sticking out so much, but I appreciate the extra headroom and large opening, and especially appreciate the roof not being raise further. I'm getting the sunroof and I'm happy with what I see.

It reminds me of a wild animal...spiking up it's back/hair when it gets pissed...
![]() I really do like like this style better than in-roof. I've seen it on a lot of Cobalts (among others) around here; and it just...fits, imo. |

By that reasoning, a spoiler 'spoils' the car... And I won't own a car without a spoiler. ![]() No thanks. I like an open roof, but not a missing roof. I've never liked convertible's. More times than not they ruin the lines of a car. I could never afford the price difference between a loaded SS and a loaded SS convertible to be honest. |

Rumor has it that the next corner they cut is giving the Camaro a single horn. If we find out this is true will you be the first one to say you hate the way dual horns harmonize and sound too loud? :seesaw:

Engineering is about solving problems. If you want to keep your headroom that badly then design a sunroof system that fits the available space. Engineers LOVE to solve these problems. You can tell them it's "impossible" and you'll have 6 different designs to pick from in a week. |
