It might be normal if it looks like grease and it's coming out near the brass vent at the bottom of the strut.

If you're referring to the pair posted by hawksmotorsports, I would avoid them. They clearly have some damage on the lower portion that I think could negatively impact their functionality. Visible in the pic below.

Made a few calls to Dealers and no inventory anywhere. I'm officially looking for a rear, drivers side DSSV shock. I'm sure there around in junkyards but need to find them. Any help appreciated.

Anze Suspension told me they might be able to, but would need to inspect a shock to know for sure. I'm planning on sending my blown shock out there to see if they can repair. https://www.anzesuspension.com/ |

Start contacting Multimatic direct
I have been in contact with Larry Holt since before Christmas. He is telling me he's working on it, but we should all put pressure on him to step up. He assured me that the enthusiast is their primary focus and that we will not be left to buy used up parts from a junk yard.
The more people who contact him, the better. GM has orphaned us and it's time to go straight to the manufacturer. Myself, I am ready to buy a complete new set today. As much as I track my car, this is the one part of our cars that worries me the most in the future. Thanks for posting Z/28Dan. I just emailed Larry. It's starting to feel like some of the 190 Unique parts to the Z/28 compared to the 1SS are going to be problematic. I'm bummed that Chevrolet has seemed to have orphaned us as you say. I can understand discontinuing the Z/28 rims but the perishable parts like the shocks and the rotors go bad. I have no problem paying for parts but not being able to source is a much bigger problem. The aftermarket always figures these things out but these specific parts (shocks/Multimatic and Brakes/Brembo) are manufactured by other reputable companies so I hope they don't abandon us.

I don't think brake rotors will be an issue. The same rotors are used on a number of different cars across manufacturers. |
