No sir I'm not changing the crank. I like to live dangerous. I'm really confident in my work and don't really expect to pull those threas as I've seen heli coils hold some serious stuff before. And far as possibly sacrificing the lateral integrity of the crank I don’t see a problen with just removing like maybe a 1/16" or just enough to remove the old threads and re-tap the new ones only took a very small amount of the crank. Anyway I think it will be fine but who knows what the future holds I might have entirely different engine by the time I boost it. Cause it'll be a while for me. I'm just enjoying the car at the current power level with that 3600 stall. Lol 😆

I have a darn oil pan leak again right at the back of the pan. I know why it's leaking just don't understand why I have the worst luck when it comes to having someone install something as simple as this gasket. I think it's best that I do it myself again this time that way I know it's done right. So I'm assuming that they didn't pull the rear cover down to the pan when they installed it and it left a gap between the pan and the rear main cover. Cause it's not leaking from the rear main. My only hope is that the rear cover is not too far from the block so I don't have to remove the transmission to re-align the rear main cover. So in the morning I'm going to have my exhaust guy cut and weld CFD's flanges on the crossmember.

Well it's in. lol Isn't pretty though! I had a buddy weld it in for me I actually think I could of done better but it should be good enough though. A lot of guys cut them out and leave them out I've heard. And another thing so I pulled the two long bolt out the pan loosened up the two lower tranny bolts and retightened the long pan bolts and dabbed them in rtv beforehand and then retightened the tranny bolts back up and you know it almost stopped the darn leak. So now I'm not in such a frenzy to replace the pan gasket but I will want to do it soon though.

Well I found my new hobby! Little River Dragway. Best I ran was a 12.8 in the quarter letting of 3/4 of the way down the track because I didn't know where the heck the finish line was so, it's a lot faster than I thought. I'm sure I would have made it into the 11's it I didn't let off early. lol. But they had to ban me from the track because of my darn oil leak. Yeah I got the thing leaking real good now so, it's time to replace that freaking oil pan gasket again.

Well she's going back to the guys at the shop for the oil pan gasket. I figured I would make them do it again since it's on them anyways. Hopefully they'll get it right this time. I was going to do it myself but with the leak it has now I'm kind of in a hurry to do it and with the dang heat right now in Texas, my goodness. Yeah after I went to the track last Friday night it has a almost steady drip now.
And on another note I could not get any traction to save my life. I tried it with traction control, no traction control, airing the tires down to 30 psi (probably should have gone lower like to 20 psi) and to no avail. I was all over the place and that was even with rolling into it. I have a brand new set of nitto 555r's. It did get a little more predictable the last time I ran. I ran 4 times. The first time I went I red lite, the second time I forgot to take it out of manual mode, the third time was without traction control, and the last one I got almost right but stopped three quarters down the track and still ran the 12.8. So the car has a lot more in it I just have to figure out a decent launch technique and not let off until the end of the track. lol

Would be worth a try to drop the tires a bit more and see what happens. When I ran the 20" 555r's I was around 22-24psi at the track.

Thought I would share my findings between these oils.
VR1 Racing Full Synthetic 10W30 Driven DT40 Full Synthetic 5W40 I tried to get comparable oil temperatures and coolant temperatures but the oil is a little different but not much.
