my SS brakes don't seem to squeal at all, it seems most cars do this from time to time. My honda minivan does this, dealer says it's normal. I do hear a whistle when windows are down. As for tires well this is an SS, I smoke the tires so I don't expect them to last long. But a mustang with a superchager and I can't see getting 60K miles out of those tires. I don't see 60K miles on any car I have ever had, minivan gets 30K miles at best, tahoe 30K. If I get 20K on these I would be surprised.
Believe you me, I am shocked that I've gotten this many miles out of these tires. Pirelli makes some fine rubber. I did find some Yokohama's on Tire Rack for a pretty decent price.

Ok,Ok,Ok I've found the error of my ways. I just read the most disconcerting thing. On a mustang forum, an owner just dropped a magnusson on his 05-09 GT. He's now pushing a whopping...you ready...347rwhp. Granted the weight difference, but Seriously?

It's SS all the way.

You are all jumping on him for bringing very valid concerns for a car that costs more than $32,000... A car that costs more than $27,000 should not have whistling in the window. And if GM fixes it for 2011, that's proof it should have been fine to begin with.

Obviously he's looking for solutions to these problems. Not looking to convince you all the Camaro is a bad car.

I'm not bashing the Camaro. I never said I wasn't going to purchase due to the things I mentioned. I was just pointing out what other owners are experiencing along with what seems to be some frustrations on their part. As a result, some doubts were being cast in my head. I know there is chance with any car purchase. I could be one of the lucky ones and have no issues and it ends up being the best car I ever owned. I could also buy the GT and the engine could explode the first week I own it.

I was simply expressing some doubts I was having and looking for some reassurance that i was making a good choice. Thanks to the encouragers out there. And thank you GaryTucker for the defense of having an opinion. I'll likely end up taking the car as planned, but I just have to go over all my options. Regardless of choice, I'm still buying American and that is the most important part in my opinion.
All Im saying many besides me ordered without driving.. if the squeaks, lil whistle.. is all ya can bitch about and YOU dont even have the damn car.. be done with it...
Cause if ya have even 1 of those things ya be bitchin' and it aint worth it.. The cars are built very nice.. I have none of those issues.. but its a 1st run car.. is it perfect..no......
Im not gonna blast the Mustang.. I like all types Muscle cars The newer Cuda styles as well...
But ya could have researched before buying(ordering)..I will still take the Camaro, its design and history (for me) over anything else though....

its called ordering with out digging into it... and bitchin when ya dont even have to car yet take the 60 day, dont like it give it back...

That s the point...
Not sayin I agree some bashin the Mustang... I wasnt doing that or Id bash yaToyota.. like its about due for a timing belt & waterpump eh?..

But there are some diehead camaro folks here that will give their say regardless what it is.. but that is why its a forum as well....

There s good & bad...

The issues that we've seen weren't deal breakers for me...but I realized that I've owned my share of first year cars...and I decided that this time, I'd let someone else be the guinea pigs. At this point I've decided to wait for the hype to wear off and probably pick up a used one in a year or so (they'll be plentiful by then and the used market will finally be realistic).

Get what suits you and don't worry if it turns out to be a Mustang. They are good cars...whether that opinion flies here or not.

Good luck on your decision.
Mustangs are "good cars".. to some I can agree...

But

A Camaro.... is a GREAT car... theres a difference.....

AND again:
All he has to do is take the 60 day.. no like.. take it back.....simple

I dont see Ford having that

I think as soon as we see a "Mustang" owner bitching about piddly shit on the Camaro- we see troll.

I wouldn't hear mirrors whistling even if they were since I usually have some Metallica or Godsmack blasting on a very decent Boston Acoustics stereo from the usb port I have the music stored on.

Or because I'm flooring it and the sound of the custom Borla Catback exhaust system is sounding great(and I'm not spinning my expensive tires since I currently have Stabilitrak on).

I'll wait and see on what tires go on next. I already planned to change to a different type brake pad to help reduce brake dusting- not squealin.

Don't buy a Camaro, don't get a GT either. Buy a VW Bug and go away.
