Does Magaflow sell a bolt-pn muffle only without the entire pipe kit. Is it best just to get rid of the stock mufflers all together and just add pipe extensions. I saw one like this at a local deal that sounded pretty nice with no mufflers at all, but was wondering if this screws with the over all performance of the car? Any idea's?

The LS3 engine is on the standard transmission and the L99 is on the A6 auto.
I want to install Magnaflow #16581 axle back exhaust on my L99 A6 Camaro but I am worried about the "droan" I keep hearing about. Does adding the Xpipe correct this or has anyone eliminated the droaning or vibration using the Magnaflows on the A6 Camaro ?.

Magnaflow does offer rear muffler replacements and rear muffler delete axle-backs. The Street Series Axle-back is part # 16581 HERE and the Comp Series Axle-Back is part # 16581 HERE.

If you're looking for more sound I'd go with the Comp Series and if you want a slightly deeper tone the Street Series is great. Please feel free to call or email us with any questions.

The below statement is correct! They have different engine management as well.

The L99 Camaros I've been around with the Magnaflow Systems didn't drone. The resonated X-Pipe in part # 16579 HERE helps control the drone inside the car and the rear mufflers give it a deep tone; it's pretty mild in terms of overall sound. The Comp Series 2.5" Cat-Back part # 16580 HERE uses the resonated X-Pipe and eliminates the rear mufflers; it has a louder tone but doesn't drone do to the resonated X-Pipe. It really depends on your taste.

If anyone has any questions please feel free to call, email or PM us anytime!

Kind regards,

I'm getting Kook's 1 7/8 headers, high flow cat mids, Magnaflow (#16579) 2.5 street catback put on my car next Thursday.
I'll try to post up a video soon after and report on how it sounds.

I ordered the Magnaflow street to help keep the noise level in check with long tubes. It should sound really good without being too obnoxious.

I'm going to have my car tuned in a couple weeks to turn off the AFM, but I'll report on how bad it is with my setup before I get the tune.

Does anyone know if there are any down falls to removing the stock mufflers and just adding pipe extensions on a 2ss with less then 1,000 miles?

Removing the mufflers and straight piping it won't hurt anything at all. It will give you a more aggressive sound.

I'm considering tearing out the resonator and replacing with Magnaflow Tru-X and replacing stock cans with 4" Magnaflow rounds Part#14416 with 4" tips as cheaper alternative to cat back system. Opinions? This is an L99.

Superchips tune is all that's been done so far with AFM disabled. Will be Dyno'd tomorrow for comparison after the exhaust mods are complete

I'm doing something similar. I am using Magnaflow #11386 thru-X muffler to replace the stock resonator, this is the same thru-X muffler on their Cat-Back systems. I'm going to keep the stock cans for a little while to see if I like, if not then I'll replace them with something. Just not sure what to replace the mufflers with. Have you confirmed the 14416 mufflers will fit?

I'm also adding LT headers. I'd like to find 4.5" double wall angle cut tips, having a hard time though.

According to the guy at the shop, the 14416 mufflers will work. I was originaly considering just deleting the mufflers but he talked me out of it. He said the 14416 is a straight thru pipe and being only 4" would be almost as loud but give me better sound quality and maintain a little of the back pressure. How much of this is just him trying to make a few more dollars, i'm not sure. This is why i'm looking for opinions. Lot of knowledgable people on here who i'm sure can help me out.

Would like to consider LTH but here in Socialist Cali that would be a no-no since it "moves" the cats. I gotta get outta this State
