Best tire size for 20x10 wheels

First off ("the disclaimer") I am a noob to this wheel size/tire size business so with that being said. The smallest front width of the wheels I am interested in are 20x10 (CCW SP16a's), at the same time, the tires I would like to run because of the reasonable cost are the All Season Yokohama Parada Spec-X 275/40/20s (Ilive in central Jersey and I will be driving through the winter with the 2SS). Are 275's pushing it a little too narrow on a 10inch rim, I am also looking to do the same combo on the back unless I can fine something reasonably priced to let me do 20x11 or 20x11.5 on the rear.

Any good articles/sites that explain the tire to wheel width guidelines and the sidewall height differences (like a 35 height is better at such and such but 45 is better for this other type of driving).

Thanks in advance for educating the noob....

Robert

Here is a link to a thread on here from a company we have all heard of who did a car for a customer with larger wheels on a Factory suspension/stance car.

20x10's are a good size imo for the rear if you want to go larger Cool however IMO 20x10's are a little large for the front just my .02 cents
9.5 is large enough.

Hello,
The 275/40/20's are perfect for the 20"x10" rims.....i believe the actual rim width spec for the 275/40/20 is 9"-11"

I am getting my CCW 505A's installed next week at CCW.....
20x10 front (275/40/20)
20x11.5 rear (305/35/20)

At first i thought that the rims were a little too wide but after having John and Dan forward a bunch of pics this rim/tire combo looks great and does not protrude out past the wells. Can accept a 1"-1.5" drop easily or possibly more. Im waiting to see what my well gap looks like and may end up going with 1" drop coils. I talked with Pedders and was told that the 20"x10" rims (w/correct offset) and 275/40/20 tires would work well in this application.

I believe that Nitto NT05's are available in 275/40/20 and 315/35/20 sizes at a much better price than P Zeros

The link below shows the above rim/tire size (275 front/305 rear) installed on a set of CCW's....

Fen,

Thanks for pointing out that thread, 6liter's setup is exactly what I'm looking for. I spoke with John at CCW yesterday morning and he was very helpful, seems like a very straight up guy and laid out all my option. I am looking to keep the cost of the tires down relative to the Pzeros and John had suggested the NT05's to me as you mentioned but I am looking at the Invos's instead as they seem to have a higher wear rating and I am in the Northeast so I am looking for a harder compound that doesn't put me "on marbles" in the cold winter temps.

If you don't mind me asking what tires are you going with on the CCW's?

Thanks in advance,

I am going to take the 275/40/20 P Zero's off the rear and use them up front and purchase two 305/35/20 P Zero's for the rear. They should perform well in Floridas cold winters :^)

If they wear too quickly i may look at different options but this car is my weekend car & not a daily driver. Went to check on it yesterday and the dealer was almost done painting and installing the GFX. Should be at CCW next Friday if the 505A's are ready by then. I see that some cars "appear" to have a slightly different stance than others....so after the install i may drop it by 1" .... I dont want it too low but i hate a large well gap.

This link shows a great looking SS w/GFX and a 1.5 drop....
http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=31746

Mine should look similar in stance but with the high polished 505a's w/wider tires. My 2SS/RS is black and will have 15% tint on all windows. Cant wait to get it finished!

BTW:shoot me your e-mail addy via a PM and i can send you a few more pics
