My 14 year old granddaughter did a 150ft burnout in my AT, 2013 SS/RS. I'm mildly surprised, this is an issue.

Yeah, besides not turning traction control fully off; I think you’re also braking way too hard, essentially brake-standing the car as if you’re raising RPM’s stalling the torque converter (if not stock, obviously) to launch it. Try to avoid that as well.

If you can’t hear or feel tires braking loose, either loosen off the brakes a bit and start feeling what’s comfortable. Sometimes doing something like swinging the rear loose in an open spot, and then jamming onto the brakes to do a burnout that way, kinda helps to find the right brake tension. But of course, the easier way would to be just to try overcoming the brakes at the right moment and then modulating the gas and brake. Think about it like a see-saw.
