Wow, that sucks. Take it to a good paint shop. It will look as good as new. After all the years and incidents, the only original paint on mine is the Hood, Roof, Trunk Lid and Rear Spoiler. But it still looks great.

Damn brother, I am so sorry to see this, but I am very happy you are OK. That poor Camaro didn't deserve this.

Hopefully she gets fixed up as good as new! Keep us posted!

Beautiful car - happy you're okay.

As tough as it is, I learned from a door ding (that almost made me cry) that the first imperfection can help you feel a little more relaxed and enjoy the car for what it is: a beautiful, imperfect material possession that will keep giving you immeasurable pleasure behind the wheel.

We’ll see what happens there. I definitely am having conversations about depreciated value compensation and/or working to keep this “ding” off of car fax.
Along with Florida I think we should post a no vacancy sign at the southern us border as well but I digress. There are a lot of illegals in NM. They aren’t hard to spot at all, and they are some pretty bad drivers for sure, on top of all the legal bad drivers already here.
Man those damn illegal aliens "dey took our jobs!" but for real, they are BAD in south Florida. In South Florida is every nationality though.... Hattians, cubans, Venezuelans, Mexicans, the list goes on.... They will be driving 40mph on the interstate with their hazards on in a toyota rav4/camry. It never fails. Part of the problem is the same nationalities work at the DMV, so they all help eachother get drivers licenses and register cars. Then they get sketchy insurance that isn't legit and they are out driving around. Biggest issue is they won't even get in trouble with the law if they get caught. Sad to hear that your pristine car got damaged. Knowing you though, it will look as good as it did new when you finish repairing it.

This. Sue. Don’t think you’re above. Insurance is a scam and they’ll try to weasel their way out. Secondly a new fender and fascia along with clips from fascia to fender and paint and you’ll be back to good with it. But yea carfax will have it as accident so devalued

I’ve got an appointment for an estimate on Monday at 2. Hagerty is going to let me fix it myself and will pay after they get an initial estimate from the body shop. I’m glad it’s going this way, I wasn’t really thrilled about letting anyone else get their hands all over it. This way will guarantee that only necessary the original paint is replaced or repaired. Hopefully I’ll make a few bucks off of it at the same time.

And… I’m not willing to compromise my moral integrity over a car accident/repairs. My health is fine. The car can be fixed. I’m grateful for those blessings and have absolutely no reason to do anymore than fix the car. If I had been seriously hurt that would be a different story.

Good on you! Besides, wearing one of these things around for an extended period of time is an uncomfortable way to make a few extra bucks.

If you don't have your moral integrity, what do you have?

Good on you.

I'm so sad to see what has happened, but from reading this thread you seem to have a calm and reasonable nature, so I hope that good things happen to the good person here.

I know how it feels, my Camaro has also been bumped into a few times, never my fault (rear ended because the lady driving the Kia SUV didn't want to slam on the brakes because her nephew was not strapped in to a seat and I was in the left turn lane with my blinker on... and a few years later I was side clipped by someone trying to squeeze into a lane behind me- over a solid line too! At least I was on my way to the shop for maintenance so didn't need to make a special trip)

I hope that yours comes out as good as new!

Thanks Jeph. It’s all finally coming together. I got these back today. I was lucky enough to find All new GM parts. The paint match is perfect. The fuel door is the original from the car.

Thanks guys, it’ll be back together for good on Saturday. I’ve got everything together finally, the old front bumper is already off of it so I can hit the ground running.
