Feedback on AIRRAID (or other) intakes

Before I pull the trigger buying an ebay airraid intake, can I have personal feedback by "L" series Camaro owners? ( Saying "V6" never feels like i'm give the car fair props).

There have been mixed reveiws scattered on this forums:

Some say it eliminates the acceleration lag. Other say that an exhaust change does that. Some say that they have gotten no or less results with their track times. Other say their butt dyno review gives it two cheeks up!
I wanna hear your experiences, thanks!

i bought one for my truck a while back. even with the underpowered-for-that-size-vehicle 4.3 V6, it still gained a little low end. no numbers to prove it, but i gave it at least one cheek up

mine's just the filter & heat shield

Two cheeks up on the Airaid. It's a quality made unit, easy install and the price is right. Any performance gains are open for debate but it sure sounds good when ya hit the gas. No acceleration lag here.

Im on the fence myself about getting one. 3 months later my car is still 100% original. the only thing that its bothering the heck out of me its those exhaust tips that look kind of small compared to the plastic opening that surounds them. If I can get a tip that snaps over them with a 4" diameter and looks factory, I'll be all over it. I verry picky about making my car look as original as posible. Sorry about getting off topic a bit. Lol

I'm one of those that seemed to have the lag on hard excel. Tires break loose for a foot or so, then the half sec of lag and then goes great. I'm going to try different take off mehhods. I have gained a couple tenths according to my accelerometor with the magnaflow mufs and cai. I also live at a 2600 ft. elevation, and that might be part of it. The airaid is made well and I don't have a problem with it, maybe just alittle disapointed.

I give the Airaid a thumbs up.

I could tell a little bit of a difference when I put it on. Some of that may have been just the thought of something new on the car made it feel faster and sounded a lot better from under the hood. Well, I have my Airaid intake tube being coated right now, so I had to put the stock intake back on so I can drive it. Now I know there is a difference. You can tell it has less power when you do it this way. I miss my Airaid intake and can't wait to get it back on the car.

It is well built and easy to install with very good instructions on how to install it. This was the first aftermarket CAI I ever bought. I am getting ready to order another one for my wife's 2008 Charger after this.

For those with a lag, are you doing standing starts with traction control on? Try turning it off. There's no lag then.

Can't tell you if I had a performance gain or not with the Airaid CAI. I put it on with 15 miles on the car Biggest PITA was putting the upper seal around the top of the box:( also ground bolt hole had a different thread count than the bolt they supplied. ended up tossing that bolt and going without the Neg cable pin. no one jumping this car anyway "Hello AAA"
