Had to remove the GM CAI and put it back to the stock tune to smog it tomorrow. I hope the catch can doesn't get me hauled off in cuffs here in Calunicornia.

They’ll probably let you slide…too busy with those “other things”.

I removed the catch can and I still need to put the stock tune back in.
Last time then didn't like the TB spacer so that's gone.
Let us know how it when. Thx

It's actually very tame and drives "near" stock like, until you get into boost that is. Then all hell is unleashed and it starts painting the asphalt.

Pulled the front bumper today. Amazing how dirty it got after 1200 miles.

Installing a LNC-2000 and coil pack connectors are not accessible with the bumper on. The sacrifices we make for a “clean under hood look.

I decided to just take the catch can off too. I drove it about 50 miles. Not enough. Threw the O2 no-pass and OBDII 'not ready.' Drove it 90 more miles. Same thing. I didn't use to have to drive it that far. Something changed since 2023. I went right through then.

Plus, I was somehow convinced that when you flashed back and forth from tune to stock - with a "married" system, it would not show up as a counted, 'reset.' Wrong! What a racket, man.

So, today, I'll DRIVE IT! I guess it could be worse. It could be a Prius.

Oh, I was asked up front if it had been reset in the the last 300 miles. I said, no. Another $25 retest Liars Fee!

Damn what a joke! I’m happy to see that CA was delivered a pretty big emissions blow recently. You guys still shouldn’t have to deal crap at this level! It’s none of their business what you’ve done in the last 300 or whatever miles.

Agreed! Happy to see some sense too.

The Conclusion: The drive cycle is a real thing. And as it turns out, the sitting ("cool down") seems to be as important as the driving. I only ended up putting about 140 miles on it but I really believe the sitting overnight for eight hours helped everything reset. So yesterday, the O2 cleared, the ECM reset and I paid my $33 liar's fee (retest) and was on my way.

I'd forgotten how well the (JRE) tune made the car run after driving it for two days on stock settings. I avoided the AFM with the paddles. I was afraid those things hadn't worked in so long they were gonna break!
