I just bought an 2011 RS convertible with only 24,00 km on it but I paid a pretty penny for those low kms. First thing I did was put a catch can on it. I bought a new PVC valve to drill out but haven't done it yet. Now that I've seen these pics that's getting done ASAP!

Is there anything that can be done as preventative maintenance against that? I try to run premium fuel.

@alanrubin @greg p I'm curious, concerning the top hole, or outlet, on the PCV "valve". Within this thread Alan says to drill the top hole to either 7/64ths or 9/64ths. What determines which one you go with?? Why not split the difference and just go with 1/8th which is equivalent to 8/64ths?? Just trying to understand the logic behind the process. Thanks!!

As alanrubin stated, this(Pull the PVC out of the valve cover.
Drill the bottom holes to 5/64th.
Drill the top hole to 7 to 9/64th.)

He states 7/64th TO 9/64.. So your 8/64th would work just fine. Right in the middle..

Forgot all about this thread.
Just shy of 5 years later and I still haven't cleaned the valves. Back then I bought a Blue Driver. The mis-firing was solved with some GM fuel system treatment and after clearing the codes all has been good.
