alex, i notice that you live in tampa, if you go to sure stop mufflers on highway 60 in brandon they can set you up for 250 bucks. I just went and talked to them and they said they can install flowmaster 40's for 250 out the door. They did the work on my mustang and they did a great job. Im definitely going to have them put of my camaro next week, the price is just too tempting.

Yes, I believe it would sound similar...maybe not quite as much volume though. I did not go up in pipe size. I just swapped out the H section for an X section and replaced the resonators with straight pipe. I suspect the shorty headers help the sound some but not like long tube headers would. Either the 40s series or Super 44s and you can't go wrong. I went with Super 44s because they are supposedly the more aggressive of the Flowmaster offerings. You'll be very pleased. Good luck.

A good point to consider. Flowmaster has an AMT cat back system for around $700 or less if you order from the right place. Bet that exhaust shop near you would be happy to install it for ya for little $.

If any warranty is voided, it would be the exhaust warranty only. Your power train (engine/transmission) and bumper to bumper warranties remain intact. Any catback system you went with has its own warranty anyway. I think the Flowmaster AMT system, for example, has a 10 year warranty that would outlast the factory exhaust warranty anyway. Just food for thought.

Here's the link to the AMT system:

just got off the phone with the exhaust shop i went to... they said they recommended the rockets over the flowmaster 40s or super 44s because those 2 required too much manipulating with the pipes and they would do the rockets for 149 each side....anybody have anything to say about this?

Sorry, but I would tell them thanks, but no thanks. Do some research and find another shop.

$149 Per side, wow. I had an entire cat back, Solo Mach X installed for $60. Of course I had to purchase the exhaust.
