I can tell a V6 Mustang from a V8 Mustang at a glance, but I often get mistaken between the Camaros unless I see the mail slot.
The difference being that when you step on the gas and gun it and so does the V6, you should win.

Your last sentence is a contradiction. You say "if you want to make it fancy, do the work" - which is what I'm saying; then you contradict it with "don't expect it". Well heck - I'm paying more because I expect it to be fancy!
You payed more and expected it to be fancy, that's your fault for not doing the research before hand.

I think there are a lot more similarities between the SS and SS/RS than and LT/RS (no slot, lower fender difference, etc)

Do you also only wear clothes with big designer labels so everyone knows you paid more for them?
1) I wear clothes that have no labels. I don't believe in advertising for someone for free
2) This is not about shoving my money in other people's faces. I thought I made that clear. I had to make sacrifices in my life for this car. I want it to be worth it. I want it to be "more special" because of my financial sacrifice.

A simple question: should a person who sacrifices his life for his friends deserve the same medal as someone who fixes tanks?

This is just a discussion. There's a reason why the M3 looks different from a regular 3 series BMW. You know the reason for this. The SS Camaro is the "M3" of the Camaro series (right now). It should look very different and meaner. I don't see the problem with this logic.

Your question really doesn't compare to the subject at hand AT ALL but depending on the situation yes they might. If he fixed a tank quickly in a battle he may have saved many many lives from certain death while putting his life in danger. Do medals really matter, you don't do an action for a medal you do it for the person next to you.

If you want your car to be more special, do like a lot of the custom car guys do and put time, effort, and more money into it and make it custom.

By the way it would have been a discussion if you didn't come off as anyone who has a V6 is a lesser being. The way your original post sounds it's just bad. Consider revising it to sound less demeaning to those who didn't buy the SS.

Bad metaphor, drama queen.

Your trying to say my LT/RS shouldn't be as fancy as your SS/RS, and you mention your hard earned money to dictate that. I'm saying that if you want your SS/RS fancier then my LT/RS, make it that way. You shouldn;t expect it to be any different, it's the same package. You want different, make it different.

Also, you've lead this on to make it about the people who buy the cars as much as the cars themselves. I can afford the SS, I don't want, nor need, the v8. Since my car is just a few grand less, I don't have leather, the gauge cluster or a sunroof, it should look less?

Let me put it this way, my car isn't a direct attachment, or projection, of my manhood. I don't care what it costs, if it's different, or if it's an SS or an LT. It's a Camaro, it's mine and I enjoy every minute of it. If that isn't enough, then I have selfesteem issues and I need to get looked at.

I would like to go the other way. I'd like to be able to either get a V6 or V8 and get what options I want "al-la-cart". But really, it's not like the aftermarket is not offering anything to make your car special/different than anyone elses. Oh, unless you are meaning to keep it stock for life?

1) okay first: analogies are simple illustrations. They become utterly meaningless when you complicate it and extrapolate a different meaning. The point is, we all make choices in life and sacrifice a part of our lives for that choice. A person decides to have a child: there's sacrifice involved.

I'm saying "sacrifice" rather than $$ because people are thinking I just want to shove my $$ in people's face. It's not like that. But I believe that if someone spends his hard earned dollars on something, then he sacrificed a bit of his life for that object. That's simple truth. This thread came about because
a) there seems to be a prevalent thinking that it's okay for a V6 to look like a V8 - which is a thinking that doesn't really work in the rest of the real world
b) I wish GM did a little bit more to differentiate the two cars.

2) As much as I like a custom car, I don't want to do too many conspicuous mods. Probably the only thing I'd do is wheels and a nicer exhaust tip.

That's not the point however. The reason why I am buying a Camaro is because I had an epiphany: it's okay to drive a car that people admire. I'm saying this because most of my friends are family people who drive boring Japanese sedans.

I KNOW that most of you are like me. You all love it when people admire your Camaro. And you sacrificed your life for this car, because you could have gotten a very practical and usable sedan but you took up a space in your garage and paid a little more for a Camaro. You realized that if you can wear a tuxedo to a ball, why can't you drive a nice car for a nice occasion? Why should you drive a boring sedan everywhere you go for every occasion?

So just extend that thinking a little further, and that will apply to V8 vs V6.

I won't buy a Mustang (as good as it is, and as much as I like the styling) because there are so many on the road. I'm thinking that in a few years there might be a whole bunch of Camaros on the road. For those of you who love the Camaro styling - don't you want to have the option of a Camaro that looks different?

When the Z28 eventually comes out, it will probably look hotter than the SS. I'm okay with that, but by the same extension, I wish the SS looked a little hotter than the V6.

What a maroon.....

People that buy V6 cars work just as hard as you and sacrifice just as much...
