And BACK ON TOPIC, I can kinda see where you're coming from on the first post- there is relatively little to distinguish the SS from the LT/RS. However, I personally think it's kind of cool that you don't have to pay top dollar to get a fully loaded car. Maybe next year, GM will add some more exclusive visual features to the car, ya never know.

Like I said, I myself plan on definitely picking up a 2SS down the road, and I have my reasons for wanting the SS (all of which derive from pure love for the car- I've owned 3 Camaros, and wouldn't want to drive anything else)

Are you planning to mod your SS at all? One sure way to let 'em know you have an 8 is a hellish exhaust
here's where it might get interesting: I lost a lot of money paying for mods on a car I sold because no-one gave a damn about them. That's why I am very hesitant to pay money for aftermarket mods. The guy who didn't want to buy it was more interested in the higher model of my car, just because it had climate control!! I had mods worth nearly three times what the higher model cost in difference, and it was worth nothing to him!

That really ticked me off.

I am buying the Camaro because I love this car, but I can't really "afford" it in the real sense of the word because I have to make sacrifices for it. As a family man, I have to think of others before myself so the fact that I am buying an impractical car means I had better not be spending a bunch of money on myself.

Therefore I have to keep the car for a long time - that's my justification.

Therefore I don't want a bazillion of the same car that all look the same. I don't mind that people after me are going to get a Z28 and it's going to look better than mine, I just care that my 15 year old Camaro might not look special any more because I sacrificed a lot for it. I'm not looking down on other Camaro car owners: let it be written that all Camaros be hot looking! Just let mine look a little different - that's all.

For the record, I got the SS because I wanted 400hp and 4 second 0-60 times. I got the 2SS because I like the leather and the extra value (based on my experiences from the car I sold). I got the RS because I wanted the HIDs. I got the moon roof, because it's my fun car. See - I got the mods for all the right reasons.

Sorry Milk, but you're a little behind.
We're all going insane over 2SSARME's super tricked out Camaro with jet engines now.

That's the thing about cars. You can't mod them and expect a profit (unless it's a ricer). It sucks, but with things like those, it's really all about personal preference. There's a very good chance the buyer wouldn't have done the same thing you did.

That really ticked me off.

That's respectable.

You weren't saying that earlier. You made it seem like you got them because you wanted it to be more unique.
See how the change in wording can change the whole meaning?
My $0.02

It needs physics though. You have to know the change in the y-direction as a result of gravity as well as velocity and acceleration of the car so that you can shoot the flank fast enough to hit the car before it passes a predetermined point.

...that's really funny to me as an AP physics student...

I follow. You don't even have to justify your options, really.

My 5th gen wants:

2SS/RS, Victory Red
A6 (for my better half, don't judge me LOL)
Grey interior trim package
Sunroof
Painted engine cover
Painted ground effects (maybe, still on the fence- that's alotta ka-ching...)
Matching car-cover
Factory installed performance intake

I was going to go with the silver rally stripes, in honor of my 02- but I'm gonna do my stripes aftermarket- I have a specific look in mind. Plus, it will make mine unique...

After that, I'm going with a NoWeeds electronic diverter, and WAY down the road, a Magnacharger (LOTSA ka-ching)

I'm also hoping to find a way to tighten up the steering ratio, as I like mine a bit more responsive than the factory currently provides.
