NOT FOR THE FAINT OF HEART!


Driving down the highway at 6:20ish in the morning and out of the dark while switching lanes !!BAMB!!! DAMN SEMI's TIRE TREAD!!! I've always been able to see them and swirve to avoid them on all the car's i've owned and it had to happen to my 2010 CAMARO!!!!

That sucks man! I've hit it once in my 94 z28. Didn't do a whole lot of damage except for a couple of scuff marks.

So sorry for that. I had same thing several years with a new front spoiler on my '77. Truckers tire shed and took out teh entire spoiler. Really sucks.

I don't think a day goes by that I don't see four feet of tread off some semi truck. And each day another one gets added to the pile. I know the retreading industry will probably tell me that they are as safe as new tires, but if that's the case why do so many of these treads separate? The interstate through the city in this area is like a slalom course with these things!

It's probably not defective tires as much as the drivers never do there required pretrip and in trip inspections properly if they do them at all. Under inflated tires get hot and that's what causes seperation usually in retreads. I think PQ could also attest to this.

It sucks for the people that have nice cars and don't see these "gator tails" on the road in time.

Yea I'm sorry for that man, thats why I never drive behind trucks, school buses, etc, because that happens and they flick up rocks more often
