Both times police were called, didn't go through the insurance, both accidents together cost me $1,500 out of pocket, would have cost me $1,000 with the insurance (two $500 deductibles) but I'd rather not have my rates go up.
at least should have been through her INS company

Two accidents within one year?
I don't want to be an prig and I know s--- happens but we have to be more careful. By your own admission there are dumb asses and dumb ladies out there. I agree that it's a zoo. We need to drive more defensively. Look further ahead, expect that people are going to do stupid things and prepare for the worst. In general be a little more cautious.

Hope all works out for you insurance wise.
Take care.

Cheers.

Uh...

You can file small claims here in Michigan. Why didn't you? I had 2 accidents, both not my fault, both reported and filed. Your insurance rates in Michigan SHOULD NOT increase if you are not at fault.

How do I know?

I was in another accident January 6th this year. The Lodge freeway downtown was iced over real bad and everyone was traveling at 10-15 mph. A bus was in the right lane, 200 feet in front, I in the center, a truck in the left traveling at 30-40 mph. Truck passed, spun out, hit the bus and ended up in the center lane perfectly as if that accident didn't happened. Due to the ice and other cars around me, I chose to purposely hit the truck in front and not avoid as to prevent any damage to the right or left.

Anyhow, although I would technically be held at fault for rear ending a truck, that truck operator lost control due to excessive speed and was held responsible. My insurance company (State Farm) waived the deductable and although on my record, my insurance score was NOT affected.

Since I am quite knowledgable regarding insurance policies (family) and the fact I have been a police officer in Michigan for years disputes what most of you believe versus truth. People are only hurting themselves by not reporting if they are NOT at fault. I have had 3 not at fault accidents in the past 7 years. All 3 accidents I had no way out. If we are held liable, why am I only paying $69 a month for full coverage on my SS with a $500 deductable and $29 a month for my 05 Cavalier? AAA of Michigan insurance.

I should have clarified..

If you have specific collision coverage and you are not at fault, you can sue the other party for the deductable paid out.

Typically, if the car is unoccupied and damaged, most insurance companies waive.

Sorry to hear it.

Yesterday, I was driving a C63 and my friend was driving the camaro, and we were being a bit of dicks and honking a lot and passing in the parking lane on a busy city street, and this woman didn't want to let me in, so she gunned it and hit the car in front of her (also my friend). His trailed hitch went through her little toyota's bumper, and I won't lie, I'm thrilled that it happened to her. She deserves it. Sorry about your accidents, though, I guess that you won't get in any more if you already got in two, eh?

In Michigan there's something called no fault, which basically means each party's insurance fixes their own cars.

I got a ticket for the second one because I was in the middle lane and I "should yield to traffic" even though I was completely stopped in the middle lane but whatever.
